GBDon’t believe the TrueCar Cash Offer… Don’t believe the TrueCar Cash Offer service. They let “certified” dealers on their platform who offer prices within KBB traded in ranges so they look legit. Then when you accept their offer they drop the price significantly and start telling you the the new price represents the going auction price for your car AND they do drop the price without even looking it over. This bait and switch tactic is bush league. Never would have expected this from TrueCar!!!

GBTruecar is worthless How can anyone give this scam site more than 1 star, although 0 is more appropriate. You put in your requirements, they tell what dealers have regardless of whether it’s a good match or not. Then the dealer adds on all kinds of BS charges like $1149 dealer prep, $999 ceramic coating and my favorite nitrogen filled tires. Hello, air is 80% nitrogen. I just got a quote from Truecar for $38,760 for a car. The dealer added on $3,000 in BS charges - that’s 8% of the original quote. Absolutely worthless.

GBUsed TrueCar thru NFCU to research and… Used TrueCar thru NFCU to research and tentatively purchase a Toyota Tundra. The "certified" dealer in central Florida had two vehicles listed that I tried to get pre-approved for. In both cases the NFCU portal refused to proceed because the listed VIN#'s couldn't be verified. Called the dealer and was told those VIN#'s showed as invalid because they were already "reserved" for other customers. Of course, they would gladly help me find another significantly higher priced vehicle they actually had in their inventory. Not a trust inspiring experience, to say the least (both for TueCar or the "certified" dealer).

GBEmails & calls I do not like having car dealers calling, emailing or calling when I am only LOOKING/SEARCHING!! Additionally, why are you notifying dealers when I am only looking or searching? I had 6 calls & 6 emails from 1 dealership for 1 car I marked. I marked them so I could FIND them again to compare to others. Perhaps there needs to be an update to your software?

GBIT’S NOT QUICK & EASY TO REVIEW CARS FOR SALE ON TRUECAR.COM For car buyers truecar.com looks good at first use, BUT BEWARE, because if you want to contact the actual seller (they are a conduit for dealers) you have to click on “get actual price” and then go through a whole process to sign up, during which you are asked to give your name, address, phone, etc. and agree to their Terms and Conditions. After that the dealer/seller calls and texts you whether you asked them to or not!! Time-consuming and irritating, when True Cars could simply put the dealer name/phone on the front page of the listing info.
