GBDigicert has gone downhill after getting bought out! jprog was a multi year customer of Digicert. After the hurricane in New Orleans I was having trouble accessing one of our servers and tried to get a re-issue of our cert. The website could not do it and told me to call a number that went to a call center with English issues, which could only forward me to which was what was likely the remnants of their former stellar support team which did not pick up or call me back.

GBTruly terrible customer service - Avoid Truly terrible customer service. Having been an EV Signing certificate customer for a few years, the experience with Digicert has been terrible. The pricing for our first 3 years was competitive, a few hundreds dollars - great! However, when we came up for renewal, suddenly the price of a single year was triple the cost of our initial 3 years. This is how they get you, they know its painful to switch certificates, so they have you over a barrel come renewal time. Our "account manager" was not helpful either, offering a 30% discount on a single year and acting as though this was an amazing deal. A third of the time for double the cost, incredible. Upon telling our accunt manager that a 30% discount didn't come close to being competitive, the reply was "Understood." Abysmal.

GBMost of the bad reviews are related to… Most of the bad reviews are related to the validation. The process is only hard if you don't have your organization information in order. It's not hard to set up a google listing or to make sure your gov registration is up to date. Digicert has by far the best support that I've had to deal with out of the big CA's and they've worked with me through some pretty ridiculous situations.

GBAbsolute time wasters Absolute time wasters! Totally unaware of local laws! Denied my UK business an SSL certificate just because we are not registered at companies house. Ordinary partnerships do not need to be registered at companies house. But they didn’t listen to any of my emails trying to explain this. They basically say: you can not get an SSL certificate unless you are LTD company! Terrible experience. Stay clear! Now I need to fight to get a refund! Terrible experience.

GBUniversity IT Admin Loves DigiCert I was an admin for a Utah university's office of IT that used DigiCert for our digital certificates. Anytime we had an outage related to our certs they were there to help and quickly resolved the issue.
