GBI’m giving them a 1 star review because… I’m giving them a 1 star review because the website popped up when I was looking for something and it gave me the option to download what I was looking but it asked me to make an account. I made the account and then it asked for $11.99 and said it would be free for 30 days. Here’s the issue. Scribd uses the word free for click bait. The other issue is I DONT WANT TO GIVE YOU MY BANK INFORMATION! This information should have popped up right after I clicked on the link but it didn’t and now I have to unsubscribe and figure out how to delete my account. Y’all are not worth the inconvenience especially after I found the SAME THING for FREE on another site! Part 2: your response was generic and unacceptable. I specifically said I do not want you to have my bank information. I specifically said that the 11.99 and free trial crap should’ve popped up when asked to make a account.I specifically said this was a waste of my time because I was not able to download the file without the free trial that includes the MY bank info that I don’t want you to have.

NZUnauthorised charges on my credit card! Unauthorised charges on my credit card! I followed some links to "free" documents on scribd a while back. Now there are charges appearing on my credit card. Did I give them permission? Well whenever I sign up for an account anywhere I do these things: 1) I use the "+" feature of gmail to identify the company eg myemail+scribd at gmail. This great feature makes it easy to sort my emails and keep track of things. My alleged account at scribd did not have this addition. 2) I use a particular pattern for my user names to make them easier to remember. My alleged scribd username did not follow my pattern. 3) I use a password manager to store the website and username, and generate a unique and VERY secure password for each site. There is no entry for Scribd in my password manager database! 4) Then I paste the password from password manager into my browser. I checked my browser and there is no password stored for Scribd! So I accept I have opened links to documents that the linkers said were free, but I can be pretty sure I _didn't_ give Scribd permission to charge me. So how did they manage to charge my credit card? I am querying Scribd about this.

GBChecked trust pilot after Sub request, Thanks! Just been looking for a document I need. Would be happy to pay a few quid for it but AFTER you create an account, it says you need to add payment details for a free 30 day sub (I was stung by one of these 'cancel anytime' sub things 20 years ago). Looks like things haven't changed. If you are stuck in one of these, phone your bank and say you lost your card, you'll get a new card number so payments won't go through. Really, with today's GDPR rules they shouldn't be retaing your details like this!

GBIts subscription is terrible. The customer service is perfect Its subscription is terrible. I subscribed my account on November for one month trial. They renew my subscription until April without any awareness. After some emails that transfer between us, they refund most of my payments. I think their mail sender need debugging, although the customer service is brilliant.
