DO NOT USE THESE VETS!!!! DO NOT USE THESE VETS!!!!! Issue one: Vet would only write a prescription for one month’s supply of medication, despite my dog being on this medication for years! Which meant I then needed to order 3 prescriptions after only one month!!! Issue two: Unbeknown to me when I collected the prescriptions on Saturday he had only validated the prescriptions for one month which meant me having to pay the full three months supply of medication x 3 in one go, rather than validating it for the minimum of three months (some vets validate them for six months) in order for the online supplier to send these out in 3 monthly instalments. I rang the surgery to speak to someone about getting the prescription expiry date extended as the amount of money to pay in one go was unachievable for me, but the vet flatly refused!!!! This has demonstrated Local Vet’s motivation of misleading pet owners into thinking you are providing a good value service and that you care about the animals that you see, but in truth its just about how much money you can get out of people! You really should be ashamed of yourselves, especially in these unprecedented time of price increases, but I guess you have taken full advantage of this ! If I had the facility to give 0 star I would!

Extortion This company basically tries to buy up all the veterinarian search real estate on the web and sell it back to vets. By being the top listing on the page, someone already aware of your clinic and looking for your phone number ends up finding it on their service and you get charged $50. Most of the calls you get are for current customers and they charge you for the call when long time clients make appointments. If a current client gives a referral to a friend and they find your phone number on veterinarians.com, they charge you the $50 finders fee even though they are not responsible for the referral. You can get some of the charges reversed, but if you don't monitor it closely you will pay a lot of money for current customers calling their tracking number by accident. They are owned by a group that will monitor your presence on the web - so you pay the parent to compete with the subsidiary you are already paying - not a very ethical business model. They also advertise their tracking number on other sites and effectively compete with your free or paid listings on those sites.

Great service so far We used LocalVets.com a few years ago and recently started using their services again. They offer a great product for little investment and their customer service has been outstanding. I have read other reviews that have said the one time, per client cost is high but I disagree. The idea is to gain a new client and keep them long term, not perform a single exam and let them go. Will that work every time? Probably not, but it will easily be made up in those that do become long term clients. I would definitely recommend them.

Head dr missing the point Brought my dog in after 3 people recommended them, great dr great staff they should all get a raise. the main dr who is the owner and his bud dr. went on vacation leaving I dr to handle everything She did but it was no joke. If you open a business to protect life and death of animals and profess your dying love of them you need to have a least 2 dr on staff, unless you want to open a really small place. Anyway I think his father wouldn't be so proud of him. . I'll go back because of the great staff and this 1 Dr. but shame on him.
