GBMostly Great Before MealPal, I spent $12-$18 on lunch every day in SF. After switching to MealPal in September 2018, I have saved over $1000 on lunch. The options are usually phenomenal and range from healthy salads (which I try to eat) to more hearty things. My only two qualms are 1) portion size varies hugely by restaurant (and it's hard to judge based on a picture), which they've tried to combat by adding more transparency to the menu 2) UI/UX could definitely use improvement especially on the desktop version

GBGreat option for the city If you're willing to have limited options but good ones, it's a great economical way to do lunch in NYC. It's hard to cook and bring food in this city when you're working long hours so this is consistently a great way to keep me from spending too much on meals.

GBBEWARE OF SCAM I loved the experience at first, but the company does not make it clear that you have to pay for another month of meals in order to access credits you have already paid for. For example, I paid for a month of credits (72) and at the end of the month I still had 42 credits left. When I tried to use these credits I was told that I cannot access them unless I pay for another month. When I asked if I could just cancel my account but use my credits that I had already paid for, the customer service team was very rude to me. A little kindness and empathy goes a long way and Meal Pal does not offer that. To me this feels very scammy because I essentially paid for meals that I can no longer get. It is a scam to advertise this company as a more affordable option when they force you to pay more money to access credits that you have already paid for. Don't make my mistake!!!!!!!!

GBAwful service Awful service, no customer response at all. Have to pay to even see what they have, and be warned - they'll rob you of your meals if you don't keep subscribing. It's also extortionately overpriced - restaurants have a "mealpal" special, which is basically a bare-bones, skimpy version of anything they'd normally sell. The only exception is Patty & Bun, who offer a decent lunch, so if you're happy to eat burger & chips every day it's probably just about worth it. Though still more expensive than a daily McDonalds.

GBPictures say 1000 words I very much enjoy the concept and theory. It exposes a clientele to a list of vendors they may not have considered due to the curated nature of the meal. However, pictures should be submitted day of or the exact image of the food that is being picked up. Portions need to be realistic as we know this is slightly discounted but if a person has to buy more food it costs more overall. All in all, love the product and platform and east just want the pick up to represent the picture accurately.
