I absolutely loved the nextstep I absolutely loved the nextstep program. As as a state home mom trying to get classes that work for my schedule was really difficult by being able to do a the book learning part online made this so easy. I had an amazing mentor through all of the learning and applying of skills. Mary,my mentor, Luke, my instructor for labs, and Jessica, my clinical instructor, were all amazing and so supportive. The labs were so educational. I loved doing my clinicals in the hospital up in Everett.I feel like I learned so much with the next step program. After graduating the program I was placed at a facility that I absolutely love. I look forward to passing my skills test and becoming a certified nursing assistant. I know I will have no trouble passing my state exams because of all the support and education I received

NextStep Review Repetition of e-mails and text about the same subject (It is overwhelming) Unprofessional coach- Coach ask you a question and 10 minutes later calls you back because she went to tell somebody at NextStep. Scary situation. (But there is nothing to hide at least at my side of the story) Communication and expectations are not clear. Also coach set up for an appointment send you an e-mail and text confirmation about your next telephone training with your coach but one day before call you and get upset because you did not answered the phone for your meeting. This type of mistake is constantly. I wish they fix it. Training class: Training is scheduled but trainer or teacher doesn't show up to class. No e-mail of cancelation or being late are received. No body at NextStep answer the call when you call to get clarification about the trainer being late or class being canceled. There no apology not even when you tell them that you waited for 2 1/2 hours. I didn't want to leave this review but I guess is NextStep protocol.

The structure of the program is set… The structure of the program is set very well. Online learning, pre- clinicals and clinicals and pre-skill labs. I passed my written and skills my first time and feel a high percentage of the students did as well. The job coordinator worked hard to find me a job that fit my needs. Also all the staff are nice 🙂

I want to first say my in person… I want to first say my in person instructor was amazing for the labs. NextStep is generally a really great way for someone who is working to get a CNA license. However, I have some problems with the organization and transparency of the mentorship program. I felt like I was shuffled around a bit with mentors and scheduling of clinicals. The only other complaint I have is that some of the skills in the app have really glaring spelling and grammar errors, which did not inspire confidence that the materials were prepared at the highest caliber level. All that said, I still believe in the merit of the program and think that more licensure and certifications should be made available through programs like NextStep.
