About Eyeglassesdepot

EyeglassesDepot.com started in 2007 as a new department of our retail designer eyeglasses and sunglasses business. Quickly we realized that our customers not only shop for new prescription lenses and new frames, they also ask us the popular question "Can this be fixed?". Tired of telling customers NO, we decided to explore the idea of repair rather then replacement. In late 2007 we remodeled the second floor of our office and hired the staff that today runs our laboratory. Our two lab technicians have combined over 17 years of expert experience in the field of optometry, eyewear repair and eyewear sales.

Probably my fault for not researching… Probably my fault for not researching this company before sending my sunglasses to be repaired. But they are a total rip off. ($40 to replace one little screw) They do not give estimates before doing a repair then hold your glasses hostage until you pay up. Impossible to get anyone on the phone and do not return messages anyway either. There was no prepaid shipping label and keep texting my phone to let me know that the bill hasn't yet been paid. No kidding. Do not use this so called repair service!

Fraud Alert! This is a wrong rating percentage. They file their own good reviews to offset the bad ones. They are a scam. If you fill out their online form - which does not constitute a contract - they try to harass you into sending in your glasses even if you decide not to do business with them after investigating them. If you don't send your glasses in, they will harass you to pay a fee for the mailing label that costs them nothing and a "cancellation" fee. Check out their ratty storefront on Google Maps. Google "Has online's biggest bully returned?" for the May 2, 2021 New York Times article about the convicted criminal who runs this business.

So far - Very good - Now lets see what happens.... So far, this company has been top notch. They immediately responded to my email saying the prepaid postage label was not attached to the confirmation email. when I say immediate, we are talking about 60 seconds. If the rest of the transaction goes like this, I will be very pleased. I will keep this review updated.

WHO IS RALPH?? NO STARS, none. Visited their web sight for INFORMATION ONLY. These people pre printed a shipping label with out any reply as to cost or even if they could repair. They ask for NO information about my glasses. Now I am being harassed to pay for a shipping label. They have not talked with me only electronic mail. Class action law suit being filed in Virginia. I intend to join in the litigation. Mean while intend to work with Federal agency as appropriate to stop this nonsense.

I found them on-line after trying to… I found them on-line after trying to find a local company. They responded immediately with a repair order number as well as a downloaded mail label, postage paid. They are unreal at follow-up; kept me in the loop. I even got my quote on a Sunday night.
