GBWould give Abebooks 0 stars if I could Would give Abebooks no stars if this were possible. Bought a book in January and it never arrived. No one replied to my emails and there is no way to contact them. Please do not try to buy anything from them as nothing will come.

GBBait and switch This is a terrible way to get books. I have only used it twice and as it turns out the second time will also be a negative experience. First I ordered an out of print book . Cost over 50 $. What I received was a trashy romance novel, used, in poor shape and not the book about Nazis in LA. now I atemted to order Percival Everett's book I am not Sidney Portier but when the order was complete it gave me some other title I was neither looking for nor attemted to order. I am really irritated. Every time they replace a high price item with something of considerably less value. Will never use them again. Use thriftbooks instead Always a good experience.

GBLatin Breviary I bought Latin Breviary from Germany. It came with the unacceptable condition. I returned it the German seller who replied that it came to the custom office and he has no car to pick up. And Returned book to me again!!! Wow, the the seller returns returned book to the buyer and keeps my $200. The customer service closed on my request.

GBThe Place to Buy Books. Have been buying through abebooks since at least 2002. In over a hundred orders I have never had a problem. A time or two, I have wished that a particular bookseller had packed the books more carefully, but that is the exception. Some of the bad reviews posted here would be avoided if buyers would learn to read the listing. There are a number of large national booksellers that list on abe. That is fine, and their prices can be very competitive. However, their descriptions are often general and not specific to the copy that you may be interested in. In those cases, expect the condition to be on the lower end, and hope to be pleasantly surprised (it happens). Also, many books are listed with a stock photo, not the actual book that is for sale. If it is labeled "stock photo", pay attention. That is not the book that you are buying. If you are in doubt, contact the seller. Their response will be a clue as to whether you want to deal with them.

GBThey hadn’t made it clear that the book… They hadn’t made it clear that the book only consisted of the soprano line of hymns. I needed full music and returned it the next day costing about £9 for Royal Mail tracked. I’ve had several replies to my request for a refund all saying it’s on its way. Now about 2 months later nothing has been refunded. I’m having one more try but don’t expect I’ll get my refund. Will not use them again.
