GBFIRST RATE COMPANY! This is a general review of my business dealings with StewMac. I've bought a lot of tools and materials from them over the last few years (well over $5k) and have never had a bad experience with them. On the rare times there were issues on an order, they ALWAYS responded quickly and in a positive, professional manner. Their customer service personnel are knowledgeable and very friendly - it's like shopping at a home town store. I live in Alaska, but my orders arrive in VERY good time and are well packed. Are there cheaper places to shop? I'm sure there are for some things, but overall, the quality product, free shipping for members, and helpful, competent staff outweigh the differences. The other big plus to doing business with StewMac is the reference material available, from the tool instruction articles to Shop Tips and Dan Erlewine's informative, fun videos. A great customer experience all around!

GBDone with this Greedy Company ! I have been a Stew Mac Customer for 15 years. I've always thought they took advantage of newcomers who are learning the trade by trial and error. I learned on junk guitars because I was sick of being charged 200 dollars to have my saddle sanded down on a counter top. I recently got back into working on guitars for fun and friends. I'm a retired Marine I don't need the money but I love the work. I recently purchased a Stew Membership and have spent a lot of money on exorbitantly priced tools to get my shop up and running again. I lost my neck Jig before moving back east, so I recently decided to purchase the under string leveling beam. I watched as the Fed Ex person threw the package on my back steps. The tool was rattling around out of its packaging when I opened it. I inspected with a straight edge and found it wasn't straight and couldn't be used on frets. I don't think that was from being tossed. I think it was a junk tool. Highly disgusted I began the return process. I will say its the first poorly packaged Stew Mac tool I have received. Stew Macs customer service is pathetic and I expect were I to remain a customer Id be soon talking to foreigners for stuff like this. As a paid member running a semi business I shouldn't have to fiddle around to get something returned. They advertise hassle free returns and that clearly is not happening. Instead of sending a return label I'm being asked to provide pictures as if I have nothing better to do than play games with stew Mac. Meanwhile I have an angry customer that has been made to wait because Stew Mac sent me a junk tool and is now jerking me around on the return. I'm done with this greedy company. I don't care what i have to do I will never again purchase a Stew Mac tool and I'm ashamed to have spent thousands with this company. This is why people hate capitalism because greed has consumed American Companies. Shame on you Stew Mac.

GBI purchased a baritone ukulele kit and… I purchased a baritone ukulele kit and it is a quality kit and I was doing well on the build until I managed to break my fretboard while sanding a little too vigorously and one of StewMacs excellent customer service folks was able to come up with the parts I need to finish the instrument and for the cost of shipping. I've been using stewmac off and on for 25 years and I will continue to use them for quality parts and kits. I'm super excited about getting going on this again and finishing real soon!

GBStewMac just does everything well StewMac just does everything well. I can rely on them for quality guaranteed for life products, which are properly described and in most cases, have extensive, easy to digest instructions. Also unparalleled, rapid international shipping.

GBI appreciate that StewMac makes demo videos… I appreciate that StewMac makes videos in which the craftsmen speak plainly and film an understandable demo of the different processes. I received my Mighty Mite neck and although I love it I will need to smooth and dress the fret ends. I like buying tools that the pros use but after buying a cerrtain number of the tools my budget gets tight and I still have a shipload of things to do to make my raw ash body a bass so I did not buy a fret file. I'm going to try 400 grit sandpaper. If you want I'll send you a pic after I get the StewMac parts to help me apply a binding to the front edge! Be blessed but be the blessing, Andrew Jeffries
