I'm not someone that knows anything about knife weight and whatever other characteristics people care about, so I can't leave an educated review on the effectiveness of the knives; however, what they did do is make me want to cook more, and actually do it well, and those are two qualities of cooking I've never been inspired to improve at. I don't know why having a few of these knives in my kitchen would make such a difference, but it's gotten me reading books, which is a feat in itself. Thanks Forged Blade, you make awesome stuff!

High-quality knives I'm absolutely thrilled with the Explorer set! The santoku knife and chef's knife are both fantastic and allow me to slice through meats and veggies like butter. The bread knife is also excellent and slices through everything from crusty bread to juicy tomatoes. The only downside is that I wish the explorer collection included steak knives as well.
