BRExpected more flexibility Bought ABODE for residential standalone use. Alarm system is effective yet simple. I'd expect the capability of dividing group of sensors in zones (ground floor, first floor, main house, barbecue place, etc) in order to allow different time delays per zone.

CAThe worst The worst. Hub not working properly . Plus they changed their service terms ! Now you can’t enjoy the automations for free and the detailed notifications ! Everything is made to make you pay even If you think you will use HomeKit instead . Pro plan not available in Quebec but they let you pay anyway. So no monitoring and no cellular backup lool . Finally, Very poor support

GBCompatibility awareness The products are good, but here is my negative experience. Compatibility shortcomings with Homekit should have been mentioned before purchase. Only after purchasing we found out that the cameras are not compatible with Homekit. The other negative (which I think is big) is the kit did not contain any decals or a sign for the front yard. You have to pay to get these, after spending more than $600. The customer service is excellent.

GBSolid DIY solution for the most part Overall my experience with Abode has been positive. The hardware (except for the outdoor smart camera which has been pulled from the market) has been solid. The monitored service seems solid and when I have tested the fire/smoke alarms, I've received a call immediately. The system integrates well with Home Assistant. I use the motion and door/window sensors for triggering smart home events.

GBThe abode system fits my needs very… The abode system fits my needs very well. All the various device options work for me. In addition, there have been very few outages that I can attribute to the Abode system. In addition, the support has been very good and responsive. The only thing that I would like to see is possibly some additional device options for smoke and water detection and also the sliding door device battery runs out rather quickly and requires additional expense to purchase another.
