Thumbs up! I used this company several times. I found out about them from friends who all recommended these movers. They took great care of my furniture. They are my go-to company whenever I need to move somewhere. I trust them fully.

We had a terrible experience with… We had a terrible experience with Brightside Moving in Mar 2024. # 1 thing to know for everyone - They are moving brokerage who makes money from your binding fee. They are not real movers. They typically charge you high binding fee and high deposit (1/3 of the total cost). They kept me on the phone for 2 hours, urging us to sign a contract with them . Of course they did not want to give us time to think and compare quotes. We signed the contract with them, which was the beginning of a nightmare. We were hoping this would be a smooth move. However, 5 days before the move, one of the employees called us and requested to update inventory. The updated cost jumped from 3k to 6k!!! We were super upset about the outcome because the original agent provided misleading calculation of the total volume to justify a low price & underestimation, but they were just waiting to ripe us off in the last min. They initially said there was no charge for any packages but ended up telling us that they had to charge on mattress bags. They threatened us upon the nonrefundable deposit if we quit at this time point. Colin and Patrick (,and another so called "quality assurance" person whose name I could not remember) – thanks for your terrible service (and disrespectful language and attitude) that led us to the truth of what this company really is. I wish I checked this company on BBB before we dealt with them. We ending up filing a credit card fraud report for the deposit. Be cautious- High binding fee, high deposit and false underestimation of the volume are the typical tricks of brokerage companies who live solely on their commission, just like Brightside. If anyone gets multiple quotes from different movers and compare contracts, you will understand the deep water of this business. For those of you who have already used their service, I am sorry about what has already happened and you may or may not be aware of what kind of ripe-off you had been through. We want everyone to know the truth- Never work with them. Update: Their reply is absurd. They earn commission from binding fee and does not matter how many items you ship they can change the binding fee arbitrarily. Again - get quotes from other movers you will see how ridicules brightside’s contract is. I don’t buy it all . This is how they run their business. Don’t work with Brightside until you get 3 quotes from real movers.

Quote was way-off This was one of the most unprofessional and disorganized moving companies I’ve ever worked with…for background, my sister PCSed with the military from Fort Sill, OK to LA California last year and was not able to sell her house immediately or afford a home of a similar size in California, so she kept her home and most of her furniture in Oklahoma temporarily…so to clarify, this was not a military-contracted move, this move was being paid for completely out of her own pocket. She found this company online and they seemed really professional and presented themselves as a small-locally owned company, they worked with her over the phone, going through her belongings picture by picture and she was quoted about $4k total. They also told her over the phone that the items she did not want moved to California (2 extra bedroom sets) could be disassembled and moved down the stairs so she could donate them to Habitat for Humanity. Since I live about 2 hours away, she asked me to come supervise the movers and to let them in the house/lock up after they left. I took the day off work and made the trip to Fort Sill. When the movers arrived (which they said they would arrive at 1030, but didn’t show up until noon), they asked me to show them through the house so they could total up the exact cost of the move, they also immediately told me that anything not going to California they would not touch…aka they would not disassemble or move the extra bedroom sets down the stairs. After totalling up the remaining furniture that was going to be moved, they said the finally cost would be almost 7k…about double what she was quoted, and they tried to justify this by explaining to me that she had forgot to mention a sofa and armchair that were upstairs and a few rugs and peices of hanging art. They also tried to mansplain to me that the packing materials and empty space between chairs and such had to be accounted for…which is ridiculous because that should be accounted for anyway in the original quote. They also tacked on several additional fees, including a fee for having stairs (which they already knew this was a 2-story home when she was quoted) and a fee for a “long-distance move” (again, they already knew before showing up that this stuff was being moved to CA) After receiving this new amount, I immediately called my sister and told her about the additional costs. She called the company and tried to cancel. Then I had to wait around for hours while multiple different managers from all over the country called, texted and emailed me (rather than going through her directly) to circumvent her and try to make deals to get me to not cancel the move. Eventually, they agreed to let her cancel, but told her she would lose her $1600 deposit. Myself and my husband are both in the military as well, so we have moved several times, both military-contracted and out of our own pocket…so from experience I can say this was not normal moving company practice and I would not recommend this company to anyone. There is always unexpected costs with moving and sometimes things get damaged, so I understand moving is usually a frustrating process, but this was extreme.
