GBNot a shipping company, only brokers. Run away. When I needed to ship furniture and housewares from Belmont, MA to Austin, TX and San Francisco, CA I received an accceptable quote from a man named Phil at Starline Van Lines. When the movers showed up to pick up everything they refused to continue loading my freight unless I agreed to an additional 20% shipping cost. When I asked to speak with a manager over the phone I was told by her, "I don't give a damn what some broker somewhere has quoted you. Sign, or we will put everything back inside." At that point I realized I had been lied to and that Starline Van Lines is not s hipping company, but a shipping broker. I emailed and called Starline. They did not respond to my emails or return my phone calls when I tried to get a refund for the difference. I finally gave up. This company will give you fake quotes to get your business and let you hang when an actual shipper shows up and demands more money. At which point you are screwed. Do not do business with these crooks.

CAThey made it look easy... They made it look easy, even though it wasn’t! On the first day, everything couldn’t have been better; everything was packed, stacked, and prepped for our move the following day. The six of them loaded and unloaded a very packed truck in record time. And what stood out most to me is what great people they are—personable and professional. If I have a choice and need to move, they are going to be the first company I contact.

GBUsing Starline worked out great Using Starline worked out great, the movers were all very nice!! Honestly everything was fantastic, it did take forever (three weeks) but I mean, I had a really small shipment going across the country, I knew that was a possibility. These guys were great, I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. The movers were really kind and helpful guys, and they got everything I needed. The moving process is so freaking rough, I couldn't pick a company for the life of me. I'm really glad I settled on these guys.

GBThey are a scam They are a scam. I gave them a list of furniture I would be taking. They gave me a false quote when I first called and talked to Curtis. The night before pick up I received a call from a woman telling me they could not take the SAME LIST I gave Curtis because it wouldn’t fit andI would have to pay more for more space and take less. I did pay. Then the day of pick up a moving van from another company showed up and the man told me they could not take the SAME LIST I gave the woman the night before because there was not enough space. They still didn’t take everything on the list, but after I told them this was a scam and to forget taking anything, they agreed to take 20 medium size boxes I had packed for ANOTHER $200. Again I paid. They said delivery would take between 5-21 days. Tomorrow will make 30 days and they still have not delivered the furniture and boxes. We called last week and the said it would be delivered this week. It was not. We called again this week and they said next week. I have reported them to the BBB and will report them to the Attorney General tomorrow. Next will be a letter from my attorney. Twice they said they would look into it and call us back. They NEVER called us back. Plus, Curtis told me they would pack everything for me and use their own boxes and tape. When I got the phone call the night before pick up she told me they do not do that and she doesn’t know why he told me that. So I had to rush and pack everything myself the night before and run to Walmart to buy boxes in a hurry. Do not use this company.

GBDo not use Starline Van Lines I'm reluctant to leave a negative review as I know it affects real people, but it's important for those who are considering using Starline to understand what they're paying for and the risks. We decided to hire Starline because their sales rep, Phil, convinced us that they were an honest and reputable company. This could not be further from the truth. We were all but guaranteed a move-in date, barring unforeseen circumstances like bad weather, which is understandable. When the movers didn't show up on time, I had to make several calls to get an update. When I finally got through to someone, there was no information available and no apology for the delay. Six days later, our movers arrived. Part of the package was to set up furniture, put things together, etc. However, because we had helped the movers on the front end by disassembling things, they said they could not reassemble. I understand why they do not want to accept responsibility if I misplaced parts, etc., but this was not communicated to us and there was no sense of responsibility or accountability. Instead, the movers (who I will say were kind and polite) moved our stuff inside the house and left without any further assistance. In short, we paid 2x the other quotes and in return, our movers were extremely late, didn't communicate, didn't apologize or take accountability for the delay and didn't provide the full service we were promised. I highly recommend avoiding Starline. Their blatant dishonesty and lack of accountability only reinforces the poor reputation the industry has as a whole.
