DO NOT USE DO NOT USE - these guys over promise and lie then just reply with "well you signed the contract" after the moving company they contracted took twice as long to deliver and damaged many of our expensive items, then sent a crack head who smelled so bad the new owners of our old home complained of cigarette smell. they were so response until they received final payment and now, nothing. when I said, I had no idea this is how all this works, they said "it's in the contract". All I wanted to was transparency. and they have not provided this. Terrible company!

Absolutely terrible from start to… Absolutely terrible from start to finish! Fred is a con artist of the worst kind. Blatantly lied to us about many important factors concerning our long distance move and was conveniently never available to take our calls when problems arose. We were told by the actual movers that our things would be in storage for up to 30 days and the move would cost double what was quoted. We had no choice but to pay it and they demanded cash only which was completely contrary to what Fred had assured us. Some very expensive items were badly damaged when our things finally arrived and that "mover" claimed to know nothing about it or filing claims. Once again a shoddy company doing very bad business! This was not our first long distance move but by far the worst!

You either pay now or pay more later Gotta admit, I had gotten multiple quotes before I got Chris from American way on the phone. At first I have to admit, it was a little annoying. Kept asking questions that none of the other companies were asking like dimensions and Materials. But in the end I’m glad I stuck through it, the other companies had underquoted me by over 400 cubic feet and I used up just about every bit of space that he had quoted me on. I don’t even want to know what would have happened if I had gone with one of the cheaper options. Moral of the story, either pay now or end up paying even more later.

Great job and we are super thankful to you! They arrived promptly and began working on my move without delay. Following my instructions on what to retain and what do discard, they escorted me around the house and attended to all other matters. In my new home, they loaded all of my belongings without destroying a single wall. I would gladly suggest them to anyone.

A Poor Company that provides below average moving services. 3/26-4/20 A poor Company that provides below average moving services. ***. Communications Poor, a troubling Issue. Before I begin my review, a little about me: I am a Retired US Navy Storekeeper, 21 years. I am a professional expert in procurement, packing, shipping, receiving, transportation, warehousing, inventory management and control, hazmat, financial management, contracting , logistics, etc. This is a professional and experienced detailed evaluation of American Way Movers. With my experience, overall it is a poor company with serious communications and customer service issues. you really should read my entire review. American Way movers is a moving brokerage company out of Pompano Beach, Florida. They are fully licensed and registered with the US Department of Transportation. They did not actually move my household goods but subcontracted it out to Ryder Relocations based in New Jersey at a lower rate. This should be very important to you so be sure to ask whom is actually doing the transporting. I called around several other moving companies for quotes, the average was $5500. I did save around $1000 but the headaches weren't worth the savings. This was an estimate for a two bedroom house and more than likely your final bill will be much more than any quote especially if you have a larger household. ADDITIONALLY, nearly every larger company tried to convince me that the amount of people moving around was greater than it actually is and some wanted to charge me extra for expedited services. Those other companies falsely stating that they were extremely busy and could not meet my time frame unless I paid extra. American Way Movers gave me a lower quote, was up front with the fact that they are also a brokerage, was able to meet my requested pick up dates without additional charge, and as I mentioned they can probably provide lower industry prices due to contracts they may have in place. My move consisted of a two bedroom house with garage 1100 miles and was based on cubic footage. KEEP IN MIND, BY LAW, A MOVER OR BROKERAGE COMPANY CANNOT CHARGE YOU FOR CUBIC FOOTAGE AND WEIGHT AT THE SAME TIME. IT IS EITHER ONE OR THE OTHER. This option should be offered to you and agreed upon before you make any deposits. READ YOUR CONTRACT and bill of laden thoroughly before you sign. Long haul moving is not cheap ! Some may think a DIY move is more cost-effective, but when you factor in rentals, personal labor and time, fuel, mileage, and insurance costs, hotels, meals, and the stresses of moving out of one place into another within set time frames, and physically packing and moving belongings around yourself, I believe it is much more worthwhile and cost-effective to contract a company to do that for you. Most people just do not have the time nor manpower to cut costs. With that in mind, My initial contact with the company was with a representative named Daniel Williams. Daniel was professional and pleasant and he quoted me a fair estimate price for my move based on the majority of items I described to him. An initial down payment of $1,000 was required at the time of booking and I was also provided a sizable veteran discount. Other discounts might apply so be sure to ask. A second contact was with a company representative named JJ. He went over my general inventory and inquired about any items, services, and materials I had not noted during my initial contact. Based on additional items, materials, and services requested, an additional $500 was required. The ryder moving crew was very good. 3 weeks down the road after several phone calls and correspondence AWM called to state they could not cash my money order and would have to return it to me which was just more headaches canceling the money order then getting a new one paid out to Ryder. I would not recommend this company whatsoever. You'll get nothing communication wise and headaches. SG USN ret.
