Glad I found this company! Fantastic. I have already glowingly recommended this company to a couple of friends, so this review is really easy to write. I'm glad I found them, as I had worked with a few other companies before them that drove me a little nuts and Averbach is just fantastic in comparison. They're super easy to communicate with (case in point: they actually answer a phone when you need to talk to a real person! so helpful when dealing with a decently-large grant that needs to be handled in a certain way, or you just have questions--they're really nice). The transcripts were excellent--I could tell the transcriptionist was really sharp and paying attention; not only were the interviews transcribed in a way that made them easy to read (and accurate) but I was blown away by how well the transcriptionist caught all of the specialized language related to my topic--I don't think I found a mistake within hundreds of pages, even with lots of weird phrases and proper nouns. Nothing but great stuff to say about this company!

A bit disorganized You did a great job in terms of trying to build a good relationship with us, but overall I came away feeling things were a bit disorganized and so things weren't on time quite often. It looked like things were going to get better with website improvements etc. But we ended up going with another company that was cheaper and uses Dropbox for transcription audio upload which makes life easier.

Good customer service and a great price. Averbach Transcription gave us a very competitive price for the transcription of over 3 hours of footage. This wasn't a rush job, so we went with the standard service which has 1 week of turn around. At the last minute they contacted me and let me know that the transcription would be a little late - we received it a day later than expected. Since it wasn't a rush job, it wasn't a big deal. We did catch quite a few typos in the transcription, but a quick run through with spell check fixed that.

Fast and accurate! I've worked on documentary films that have used Averbach Transcription for their interview transcriptions, and they have by far been the best service I've had the pleasure of working with. They're fast and accurate, and their staff is always super responsive. They're always my first recommendation to anyone who asks!

Reliable, affordable service I'm pretty happy with Averbach. They get transcripts to me on time and at a decent rate. They also leave out the ums and ahs, getting me just the good stuff. One star off because sometimes I get transcripts back with a lot of "unintelligible" marks, but when I go back to listen to the recording I can make out the words. Am I just smarter than them? I doubt it.
