The app is horrible and lack of… The app is horrible and lack of internet browser portal is very bad, however the fees and the way the account functions is great. They REALLY need to fire their lead developer and CIO to make some decent advances on the app side. They seem like they really don't know what they're doing for the phone app. I understand it's not easy but you guys don't look serious at all because of this crappy app that won't update external account balances and sometimes approved or denied transactions won't even show up at all until a week after contacting support. Not to mention that half the time the card won't work on the internet and some countries' ATM's. My free credit union checking account in the USA at Navy Federal only charges 1% for foreign transactions and reimburses worldwide ATM fees up to $10 a month so honestly, Denizen, your offer is NOT that phenomenal. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE improve the app ASAP and give us an internet site for an online portal to access online banking through a web browser.

*Update* Bank resolved issue I really tried to give this bank a chance but they have displayed either gross incompetence or negligence and it makes me afraid to have any money with them any longer (I have tried to close my account and transfer my funds out a week ago but they still have not, despite their promise of "immediate" account closure on their website). Simply put, I noticed my account balance seemed higher than I expected back in early January. I asked Denizen why this was and to rectify it, and they just said they would "look into it and get back" to me. I followed up many times over the next few days and weeks and would not get a response. I even asked what should be a very straightforward question once of "what is my account balance?" and they would not tell me. So in February I assumed that I was being crazy and my account balance was fine. I spent down my account and added to it with seemingly no problem. Now in April I try to transfer money to fund a down payment for my house. Denizen froze my account and for weeks would not tell me why. I even call and they just say "I cannot answer, but I promise I will have my manager call you back right away with an explanation" and I would wait and receive no call or message, even after a week. I finally ask to close my account and transfer the money out, and I get a call saying OK but they just realized my account balance was wrong so they are going to deduct nearly $4,000 from my account first. Do not trust this bank if you a) value knowing how much money is in your account, b) want to trust that you have the ability to spend the money that is in your account, and/or c) want to work with an company that will respond (note: in my case, I went MONTHS without getting a response, both via email and phone) to customer service questions or requests for help. **Update: Since posting this review, the bank has provided compensation for most of the amount in question. I appreciate the bank took the issue seriously and hope they continue to improve their operations and customer service.

Untrustworthy Denizen made big promises, but after signing up and using their banking service for several months, they send a notice saying that my account would be closed and my card revoked, because they are withdrawing their service in the Irish market. Doesn't just make them appear untrustworthy, but also fintech as a whole.

I closed my account after 3 months I closed my account after 3 months. Totally unreliable; security blocks as you move between countries that take 4 or so days to unblock; unreliable ledger; slow posting of deposits; and virtually absent customer service. For a card servicing a globa community they are so far off the mark they and Compass should be embarrassed.
