needs improvement I'm disappointed with how WordPress has changed over time now since I've come back to using it after a while. The layout makes it seem way more complicated than it needs to be and it really takes the joy out of blogging/writing/designing. I like the low-cost options but the layouts and controls need to be simplified more since it's too overwhelming and not always straightforward.

Good for entry level user Wordpress is great for getting a site up quickly but being a web designer I'm sick of arriving at a job and discovering that the site rebuild is needed because someone has put all the info in widgets! Very time consuming. If your paying over £1000 for your website try and get it done in HTML5 and avoid cms. If you need to administer your site with no technical knowledge the Wordpress is great.

DISGUSTING data retention & privacy attitudes. If you want your forum posts deleted at a later date, even if they contain personal data or sensitive data.... Wordpress.org does not care. I am pretty sure none of their policies are compatible with legal regulations, and they're certainly not compatible with the best-interest of their users, or straightforward ethics, but they don't care to do anything about it.

The Emperor has no clothes I know it's a heresy; like saying the Emperor is wearing no clothes, but truly, Wordpress is just illogical, frustrating and fiddly to use compared to so many of its competitors. I have just spent 10 minutes trying to find out where the header is located in the innumerable customisation menus. Seriously! 10 minutes. The template has one set of customisations, Wordpress itself another, and they duplicate, override, clash and generally confuse. Of course it's a behemoth, and like VHS won despite the superior quality of Beta, it won't be going broke fast. But if they've any sense, it needs to be rethought from the ground up as WordPress 2.0
