Don't pay to advertise your vehicle Paid for Gumtree recommended advertising package to sell our vehicle, what a rip-off. Ran an unpaid ad at the same time with similar results. Gumtree is the home of scammers wanting e-mails address to acces your computer at a rate of 10 to 1 of genuine inquiries. Reporting scammers to Gumtree does nothing and they give members no control to block these scammers. Gumtree is just getting too greedy and are a fifth rate site to Facbook MarketPlace. Unfortunately these are the only two effective selling sites on the net but Gumtree is going the way of the Dodo.

Phishing scam emails - Gumtree does not nothing Phishing scam emails are sent through their own system. They do not respond to any emails ( supposedly within 24 h) - Im still waiting 4 days later. From Gumtree help: "Sorry, there appears to be an issue with your account, please contact customer service message." has been submitted. We try to reply to all tickets within 24 hours. Three days later nothing has been done other than give another ticket number to this query.

The worst place to sell things When I sold my Elgato Video Capture to somebody on Monday 13th February 2023 I got scammed $357.50 from PSP*JustC/prodamus.io London GBR EUR 223.71 so I had to get the disputes team to contact the merchant to get my funds back for me. I would definitely recommend using eBay or Facebook Marketplace.
