They literally clean up miscategorized journal entries and reconcile whatever mess you have in your journals on AR/AP. They are completely above board and you can submit your books to the IRS if requested with full confidence. I appreciate that when I run my reports, I get a clear and accurate picture of my business revenues and expenditures.
