be careful with this company I complete my 2023 return and they tell you on the site that I have to pay for e-file after a paid when I send the file it was rejected and I have to do it again to correct my AGI from last year. In the website they inform me that I have to pay again but that my credit card will not be charge twice. Well it ended that they charge my card three times and I have to call the bank to dispute the transactions so be careful they do charge you again if you have to resend the income tax. They lie showing that they will not charge you twice, they do I have proof.

Like any tax prep software they leave the gotcha at the end I started out using their free file option. Only once I completed everything and got to the end did it say I didn't qualify. Instead it could have told me certain deductions/credits I was filling out AT THAT TIME would make me not eligible. Waste of time and money.

Evil new podcast ads talk about how much Taxact hates doing taxes whilst being the lobbyists who insist laws exist to make the taxes impossible to do. Evil.

This company is completely unethical This company is completely unethical. They scammed me this year with a bogus “coupon” that ended up costing me twice as much as the basic service would have cost. To revert to regular pricing though, I would have had to go back and start the return from scratch. There’s also another “small print” scam waiting for unwary purchasers. They give you what looks like an option to pay for the tax prep out of your refund. But, that actually means you’re applying for a refund anticipation loan, so you’ll end up paying fees and interest on top of their fees. Stay far, far away from this company.

Absolute SCAM!! Absolute SCAM!!! Please be warned, it all looks good then you pay, thinking you are set. After you pay is when they completely fail you. They take you money then screw you.
