I PAID $40 FOR NOTHING What a horrible company. I filed a 2023 return for my teenage daughter. Taxact convinced me I needed to pay $40 to e-file. It sounded easy enough. After they took my money, they told me the return wasn't eligible for e-file. I called customer support but they denied my refund request. I paid $40 for NOTHING. Stay away from these guys.

Pick a different one I've been using Taxact yearly for quite awhile. Going to switch next year even though that's quite a hassle. The price isn't worth the never ever updated product. Taxact is NOT intuitive at all. Everything is complicated and unhelpful. The program is outdated and expensive for the lack of updates. It's no longer the cheap alternative to expensive tax programs. Avoid it.

Like any tax prep software they leave the gotcha at the end I started out using their free file option. Only once I completed everything and got to the end did it say I didn't qualify. Instead it could have told me certain deductions/credits I was filling out AT THAT TIME would make me not eligible. Waste of time and money.

Not much help beyond printing the return I'm amazed that there is no information for where to send your paper tax return for Federal or state. Apparently in September you can't e-file and you have to mail it in. Come on Tax Act, don't make us hunt all over for a mailing address. This is sloppy programming.
