A special thank you to Velle who works at the Cornell Branch! She is always so sweet and seems happy to help me! I’ve never felt so cared about with a bank/ credit union and I really put my TRUST in her and the whole team there! GBPenalized for paying too much money, too early I took out a loan 3 months ago. I have been playing 4x's the minimum loan payment the beginning of each month. Last month I made my third payment and they received it the day new billing cycle closed. December 2nd. They applied it to the previous month (November's bill) and charged me a $25 penalty. I asked if they could remove it since it was a payment that could cover 3 months of payments by itself and was paid early. They apologized but said the answer was "no, the system won't allow us to remove the penalty) Do not recommend using an institution that is this handicapped by they technology they chose to implement.

GBExcellence In Customer Service I spoke to a member rep on the phone and he was professional, clear, and knowledgeable. He also followed up with me a few days later to make sure everything was implemented as expected for my bump-up CD. Good to know I am in excellent hands at First Tech.
