GBFree cash back programs often offer better utility Nearly all other cash back programs are free, and often offer higher cash back than shopsmarter. On a targeted basis, if you have a high spend at one of the particular stores that don't frequently offer 10%+ elsewhere, this program adds value. Otherwise it's not worth the monthly charge. I also had a very large in-store purchase at a merchant in the program where my transaction on the registered card did not track--which cost me $60 in that one incident.

GBUser Beware, A couple of things about ShopSmarter A couple of things about ShopSmarter. First, they raised their monthly charge without notifying me or giving me the option to opt out. Second, I recently made an $8500 purchase through the ShopSmarter website at Best Buy. Initially, the claim was approved, but later they asked for information because they were concerned that the claim was for business purposes and not for personal use. I sent them the information requested, but they then they disapproved the claim because part of the purchase was made with Best Buy gift certificates. While I understand that they may do this under their terms of service, the point is that I made the purchase, and as far as Best Buy is concerned, money is money. When I called to inquire about this situation, the customer service representative was completely unhelpful, other than telling me that my account was cancelled. She could not provide a reason as to why my account was cancelled, but I suspect that it was because of my submittal of the claim. The bottom line is that I were trying to “scam” ShopSmarter, why would I submit all the information they requested?

GBWas excited to finally find a store… Was excited to finally find a store that would invite me to join ShopSmarter. Within first month I put three orders in. All I received was a $10 check for the month as my Welcome gift. Disappointed, not certain if the company knows about my orders. Also for the three-5 free trial day period they charged $2.00. Ridiculous! I’ll wait another month, Hope my money will start rolling in.

GBTheir prices at $15.99 per month are… Their prices at $15.99 per month are getting ridiculous. Starting to become a rip off especially with an annual $1000 cash back cap. It's like paying $200 for MAYBE some money back. Use Rakuten and get the same cash back without the cost. This company is going to put itself out of business.
