We completed my auto loan in a couple of days. I just hope that for next time, I can sign everything online since I live all the way in Alameda County. The worst credit unions to open a account with One of the worst credit unions. stay away from opening an account here. They will ask for all documents and finally deny the application on absurd grounds.

They regularly put unnecessary holds on my checks They regularly put holds on my checks, but not my husband's, even though both accounts are in both of our names, and they can't explain why the different treatment, making me feel this is sexism in banking. They even put a hold on a cashier's check from another local credit union (Star)! They kept me on hold for half an hour when I asked why, and still couldn't come up with an answer because they were "having trouble pulling up the check image." I still don't have an answer, over an hour later. The only reasons I have not given them a lower rating is that much of their competition is worse, and they DID give me a personal loan once when I really needed it. They have also sent incompetent appraisers to our home before, and we had to pay for a separate new appraisal with a different company to prove our house was worth what we had thought.
