There was no explanation given to me about the cost increase except that I live in a major city (nothing to do with my dog in particular). Company clearly states that it will not increase premiums based on pets birthday and yet that’s exactly what they did. I felt very manipulated and canceled the policy.

You can have Trupanion pay the vet directly to avoid paying the $12000 up front. Just let them know upfront and don’t let your plan expire or miss a monthly premium payment. We’ve had them for over 15 years now. They will cover dental procedures as long as your vet doesn’t have any dental issues in their record before coverage starts.
