NOThe claim was approved after appeal I had an accident with my motorcycle, and first Safetywing rejected my claim because I could not prove I was wearing a helmet. They kept asking for a rescue report that did not exist. This caused me much anxiety and stress. Even sending a picture of my damaged helmet did not help. But then on appeal the decision was overturned, and I received the money for the claim a couple of days later. I must confess I did not expect them to overturn the decision, and I was very surprised the claim was approved. This restores some of my faith in Safetywing, and I will probably use them again on my next travel.

ARAmazing customer support and very good coverage for digital nomads. The customer support is simply the best. The claims process is also quite alright. They handle it thru a 3rd party partner - WorldTrips - so the clunkiness is not SafetyWing's issue, but as far as I know since November 2023 already SafetyWing handle everything themselves, and it's much easier and faster to claim and receive a refund. Would definitely recommend. Been using them for almost a year of traveling thru South America, had a couple of situations where I needed medical attention from a doctor and all expenses, for about a $1000 combined, were refunded without an issue.

BRGreat until you need to make a claim Everything is great until you need to make a claim. Claims are done in a different, clunkier platform, and take months to be processed. I made a claim but forgot to add the document for one of the expenses, instead of asking for it they simply closed it and didn't pay the total amount. I tried making an appeal explaining what happened and they simply rejected it saying it was a duplicate claim. Tried adding additional documents to the original claim and I got no feedback. Still trying to get paid after 3 months.

JOnot recommended They are again unprofessional when it comes to evaluating your claim. I have an eye inflection, which needs to remove the infected cyst. All the documents are submitted. Instead, they said this is for correction-eyesight-related surgery. I am stunned by their manner of evaluating medical claims. not recommended.

KRThey don’t cover your medical expenses They don’t cover your medical expenses. Only if you pay 250$ they will asume the costs from that amount. I made a claim during my trip in Vietnam and never received the money from the insurance. So, in my opinion it’s basically a scam.
