About Shipsurance

Shipsurance Insurance Services, an Assurant Company, is a shipping insurance provider. We provide coverage for shipments sent via the major shipping carriers at a greatly reduced rate; often more than 90% off of the carrier rates. Think of us more as a business partner than a shipping insurance vendor. We work with you as your claims management department. We have been insuring businesses for over 10 years and underwritten by Voyager Indemnity Insurance Company. Voyager is 'A' rated by A.M. Best."

Frustrating company to deal with Frustrating company to deal with. Often they ask for the very same information that has already been provided. Sometimes the accept the document we provided, other times they say they need a different document. Not sure why the same document is OK in some instances but not in others. Delays in their responses to us cause delays in processing claims. These delays frustrate our customers. Emails come without a name from the person emailing, meaning we have no idea who is involved with our communications. Tons of room for improvement.

Sold an item via Etsy Sold an item via Etsy. They recommended USPS and Shipsurance. I buy their shipping insurance to cover the $2100.00 value. I buy signature required from USPS. The recipient never receives the goods and files a claim, Etsy takes $2000.00 out of MY bank account and gives it right away to the buyer. USPS says the parcel was signed for and delivered. The buyer claims it was not delivered. Shipsurance denies my claim. USPS denies my claim. You can't do honest business with Shipsurance or Etsy. No help. Cold Shoulder. They obscure the truth and their exemptions in the legalese & fine print. Best to avoid them. They represent the worst in shipping insurance.

Shipsurance dropped me! Shipsurance paid me through Pirate Ship for one (1) claim, for a broken item (by UPS), and now has sent me a letter dropping me. According to their letter, I’m no longer able to insure anything through Shipsurance on Pirate Ship or anywhere else. What is the purpose of having insurance? ONE CLAIM???? I’m so disappointed! I’ve had a pirate ship account for a couple of years now. Sad!!!

It brings peace of mind It brings peace of mind. I include insurance with all my orders, so if anything goes wrong, they handle the fight for me and ensure I receive the compensation.

These morons require your receiver to… These morons require your receiver to fill out some form to "validate loss" even though UPS has validated the loss officially via claim. They ask your customer things like, "desired resolution". I'm the shipper, and this is solely my choice and interaction, NOT THE BUYER. I paid Shippo/UPS to deliver a product to the end user, they SHOULD NOT have to "validate loss". Stupid and will never use again.
