GBOverall experience Overall, I think Splitspot works well if you are persistent with issues. However, the initial quality of the service is not the best. When I first arrived to my apartment, a lot of appliances were broken and some electricity outlets not working. The cleaning service that they offer is very poor as well. I don't really feel a difference when the cleaning crew comes prior to a new roommate move-in. But, as mentioned, they finally solve problems after being patient and persistent.

GBNightmare What a nightmare!!! The worst rental company anyone could come across, pretty much you have no one to talk to because their phone line never works and you can’t even leave a message. The emails are pointless it's like talking to a brick wall. I Moved to ( 9 Mount Pleasant St ) From pictures that don't represent the actual house, the apt was filthy, rodent infestation which is left to deal with by yourself, It wasn't livable space, I requested to my money back and 4 Weeks later I am still waiting for a responds.

GBInhumane living situations FILTHY apartment. The house I live in has NEVER been deep cleaned, there are even hair from previous tenants stuck to the walls. CRAZY expensive for what it is. Damages are not taken care of (they send YouTube videos instead of professionals) and we also have a massive rodent problem - they said they would send an exterminator, guess what, somebody came and put up ONE (!) additional trap… no serious solution to the problem! The company does not care at all that people are living in inhumane housing situations. I am considering taking legal actions against SplitSpot mainly because of the health concerns that come with the housing. Please spread the word that people should avoid SplitSpot as much as possible!

GBI’m having a couple of bad experiences… I’m having a couple of bad experiences with split spot. There’s good.. tho when money is involved the bad is bad. Coercing tenants to resign to another lease, not even half way through their original; just to charge us more is CRIMINAL Making mistakes on our bills IS UNACCEPTABLE. Constantly changing third party’s where tenants are suppose to pay their utilities is the reason behind splitspot charging its tenants “overdue payments” for utilities. Due to there incompetence. It sucks because I really liked this place and what it had to offer in terms of a setting.

GBJust don't You're going to be looking for a place to live in Boston, DC, New York, wherever. You're going to see that a vast number of living spaces w/roommates are managed by this company. You're going to look up reviews and think the same thing I did. "There's no way they can be that bad, right?" And indeed, right. There's no one way Splitspot can be that bad, just a thousand different unexpected ways that will assail you throughout your time living at one of their properties. Lack of responsiveness, weird fees out of nowhere, lack of responsiveness, no legitimate or serious vetting of your roommates, being told to try nonexistent fixes for utility issues for days before someone was sent out (I can't push the red button under the sink because there is no red button under the sink), and did I mention the lack of responsiveness? You're going to try to rationalize the choice -- well, they have most of the listings in the city, they must be legit, right? Please don't make the same mistakes I did. The only reason this isn't 0 stars is because the site won't let me and the bathroom ceiling only started leaking brown goo a few weeks before I moved out, so comparatively it wasn't too much of a hassle. If you're desperate and think you can't do better, believe me, you can.
