GBThere's a reason why splitspot is under 3 stars. Don't learn it the hard way. I've been with them for more than a year. They were fine before, but honestly, as of late, 90% of my headaches come from them. Terrible at getting back to you. Terrible at efficiently fixing problems. Their voice machine is broken. They won't fulfil their obligations with utilities - literally they forgot to pay for the wifi. Everyday I pray I don't get a Split Spot related problem. Don't be surprised if problems come up on their end and you have to deal with it. Some customer service reps are okay, but be careful if you talk more or ask too much about your problems because they have no qualms blocking you. Unprofessional in my opinon.

GBJust don't You're going to be looking for a place to live in Boston, DC, New York, wherever. You're going to see that a vast number of living spaces w/roommates are managed by this company. You're going to look up reviews and think the same thing I did. "There's no way they can be that bad, right?" And indeed, right. There's no one way Splitspot can be that bad, just a thousand different unexpected ways that will assail you throughout your time living at one of their properties. Lack of responsiveness, weird fees out of nowhere, lack of responsiveness, no legitimate or serious vetting of your roommates, being told to try nonexistent fixes for utility issues for days before someone was sent out (I can't push the red button under the sink because there is no red button under the sink), and did I mention the lack of responsiveness? You're going to try to rationalize the choice -- well, they have most of the listings in the city, they must be legit, right? Please don't make the same mistakes I did. The only reason this isn't 0 stars is because the site won't let me and the bathroom ceiling only started leaking brown goo a few weeks before I moved out, so comparatively it wasn't too much of a hassle. If you're desperate and think you can't do better, believe me, you can.

GBHorrible management of Property Horrible management of properties. They are unresponsive to emails, and you never know when they might decide to drop the property, giving you a quick turn around on trying to find a new place. If you’re in it for a short term lease, just sublet. Yes, there leases are illegal. Usually unsigned by them. I never received lead law documents that were required by law in Massachusetts. They’ll keep your security deposit for a cleaning service, which is an absolute joke because I had the pleasure of sticking around the place after I had moved out because my friend was still a tenant, and they threw water on the floor and tracked mud everywhere. Truly the most horrendous experience ever. Never again.

GBI won't use their service... I won't rent with them because they demonstrate they are not available to their customers even during the onboarding stage, so how can I trust them to be there for me during a tenancy? The truth is, I cannot. Their non-existent help during the pre-rental stage includes no email, chat, or question ever being addressed; bot answers are all I get, and if it's this bad pre-rental than SplitSpot is a "no go". Trustpilot is wrong to give them 2.9 stars when they only have 2 reviews at this writing, each being 1 star only.

GBOverall experience Overall, I think Splitspot works well if you are persistent with issues. However, the initial quality of the service is not the best. When I first arrived to my apartment, a lot of appliances were broken and some electricity outlets not working. The cleaning service that they offer is very poor as well. I don't really feel a difference when the cleaning crew comes prior to a new roommate move-in. But, as mentioned, they finally solve problems after being patient and persistent.
