ESI donated £100 to a 'Ugandan… I donated £100 to a 'Ugandan orphanage', I became suspicious after them (the 'orphanage') contacting me directly through social media. I tried to contact the organiser of the fundraiser to find out some further information who apparently is US based but they haven't replied?. The man who contacted me from the 'Orphanage' was asking me to share the go fund me link and had multiple different named social media sites, he was also sending images and videos from the 'Orphanage' which was odd . I asked for documentation to see its a registered NGO so I could be confident in helping further via gofundme. I since realise the documentation he provided is fake, I complained to Gofundme and they have not checked the 'orphanage' out, its still raising money despite almost certainly being fake, I have not been 'covered' despite the wonderful advertisements of being fully covered on the Gofund me website and I have received no moneyback as guaranteed and the reply from Go Fund me support was very unprofessional. I will never trust this site again. Do not believe your money is 'guaranteed' it IS NOT. They are not tackling or even have any interest in the fact the fundraiser is FAKE and I gave proof. No interest whatsoever. I'm sure the media would have a field day if they knew this sort of thing was happening and judging by the comments...its happening regularly

GBA sucker per minute In the USA they have a popular saying “There’s a sucker born every minute” and as far as I am concerned anyone who is mindwiped enough to hand money to (sometimes) complete strangers begging online, either has far too much money or is indeed a “sucker”. GO FUND YOURSELF !!!!!!!!!!!

GBStolen our money It has been 2 months now and go fund me has all of the money our children have raised as a fundraiser. We cannot get them to release the money. There is no customer service and I am not convinced they are actually a real company. They have a few thousand pounds and I do not think we will ever see the cash our kids have worked really hard to raise money for a charity in Africa. It’s a disgrace

GBSupport provided professionally The person whom I chatted responded professionally. I still think that it would be nice if there is a way to set up the tip percentage by the fund raiser. So, when a donor press the Donte Now button, the tip percentage appears as it was set up by the fund raiser. Currently, it’s set up the way that 17% of donated amount will be added as tips. And, many people don’t know it can be adjusted and think it’s the mandatory service charge that they should pay.
