GBIf you don’t want to deal with the mess… If you don’t want to deal with the mess of doing your own compost, this is a great service. They are easy to work with, collecting your bucket on a regular schedule and replacing it with a new one. Three customer service features I like are the yearly billing discount option, the pick up reminder emails, and the pick up person’s effort to collect the bucket even when I forget to put it out. Also I appreciate being able to stop service when went on vacation.

GBGlad to help the world! Glad I saw the advertisement at the county compost drop off as it was getting difficult to drive to that site! What with all my speeding tickets from the cameras. :) Love the consistency in pick up weekly and glad you guys take our additional large bag every week in addition to the bucket. Glad you guys swap the buckets weekly. Aside from the convenience, glad that you guys are able to help US help the try to help the world! We just need to convince everyone to compost!

GBLong time customer (3 years) Long time customer (3 years). I really love the convenience of this service and knowing my food waste isn't buried in a landfill. It's easy. Place your bucket outside your door for pick up and get a clean bucket in return.

GBWe are moving away and will miss this service We are moving away. Leaving this composting service behind is unfortunate for many reasons. First, it is simple, and free for folks living in downtown Frederick. Second, we got a bag of finished compost this fall, which we used to supplement our many street-side planters. Third, I get a feeling of great happiness to see so many white five-gallon containers out on front steps and porches on pickup day. I feel that I’m part of a great community. Fourth, the composting service has improved our weekly curbside trash collection. It’s all of a piece with the colorful boats on the creek in the winter and the festivals in town throughout the year. It’s a piece of the whole that contributes to a wonderful, inviting community. Who wouldn’t want to live in Frederick?
