The online pawn shop with service and processing fees!!!!! Mercari use to be the best place to buy and save some money. This processing fees and service fees defeat the purpose of buying a used cheaper item. Today I wanted to buy an item that was $300 dollars because brand new in Amazon was $400 dollars, anyhow upon check out my total balance was $375 dollars. At this price I'm not saving anything might as well buy it new with warranty for almost the same price. I don't know who in their administration thought it was a good idea to shove all these fees to the buyer face when it use to be a thing for every seller a "service fee". which made sense. I'm glad there's other shopping platforms online for example ebay, offer up, poshmark, Amazon etc..., because Mercari is a thing from the past, and they did it all to themselves. It was fun while it lasted.

Be very careful with the Mercari… Be very careful with the Mercari platform itself when buying or selling. The company’s A.I. Bot scans ads and transactions for activity that could be ‘construed’ as a violation thus prohibited conduct. The system will then simply shut-down your account and attempt to freeze your funds. - Escalating the situation to a human/customer service has no bearing or influence at all. - It almost seems like this is one of Mercari’s revenue streams is to shut-down account and keep your funds. I highly recommend using other well known and trustworthy platforms instead.

Mercari provided me with a duplicate label… I am a seller on Mercari and I shipped out a package with the label Mercari provided. Dropped off the package off to the post office Monday April 29, 2024. Waited 24 hours for the package to start tracking and it never did. I write out a personalized letters to everyone so I remembered the name of the person I sent the item to. Upon looking at the actual shipping label I discovered Mercari SENT ME A DUPLICATE LABEL from a previous order. I reached out to Mercari to ask for help and of course they couldn’t own up to their mistakes and said there was nothing they could do. I spent a majority of my morning calling the post office in a different state trying to intercept this package. I almost got scammed out of 36.00$ thanks to Mercari. Good job protecting me as a seller. 10/10 do not recommend using this platform to buy or sell

All of the sudden I could not send a… All of the sudden I could not send a message or offer to a seller on an item I wanted. I didn't really care for that as I had not done anything wrong or inappropriate. I had made a comment on the boots that they needed new soles, even though the seller listed as in good condition. After a month + that comment was not approved. Today, when trying to make an offer I was informed I could not contact the seller or make comments. So I deleted my account in response. I have made 5 transactions in the past 2 weeks I have made 5 transactions in the last 2 weeks on Mercari. All went smoothly until the last one, when a subwoofer arrived that wasn't packed to well and was damaged. I contacted Mercari and customer service was awesome. Yes, there is payment processing fees and service fees, but I still paid less on Mercari than I would have on eBay. One of my purchases was a fairly new Denon Networking 7.1 receiver was $75 plus $40 shipping. The thing is absolutely amazing and weighs 30 lbs On eBay it was $175 plus $50 shipping! I'll pass
