BEWARE BEWARE! Getaroom.com is an illegitimate business. Just reported them to Better Business. They go by many names, I booked through their alias Guest Reservations. They are owned by Bookings Holdings. They show the same price as everyone else but when the charge goes through it was $200 dollars more and non refundable 10 minutes after the booking. No other site was non refundable for this hotel for that night and every other site said the taxes were $57. I was booking for my daughter who was attending a funeral of a 20 year old friend. No hotel should be allowing this company to book their rooms.

Misleading price quoted Searched for a hotel using Google. This looked like the official website for the hotel I was looking for. Appeared to quote £95 for 2 days I wanted. Accepted that and booked/paid. £191 taken out Hotel rooms £126.80 Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees £65.04 Amount Paid £191.84 Tried immediately to cancel but told nonrefundable. £126 for the rooms is actually reasonable but the extra charges are ridiculous! #####update##### Contacted by customer services who offered some compensation due to lack of clarity. They were very quick to respond to review. Updated to 3* due to that response. I will have to pay a lot more attention in future.

If you are reading this it’s hopefully not too late Website to book impersonating hotel site- no third party logo and hotel name in web address. Booking defaulted to the current date as I tried to confirm booking. Nightmare trying to get through to someone via telephone- robot not understanding ‘yes’ in standard English accent. Put through to customer services and was advised unable to refund and reschedule for correct date. When queried they hung up on me. Phone company informed me call had cost £10.

Appear to be scammers Update: Their customer service responded quickly. I was unable to answer the phone when they called so they sent an email advising a refund of $31.01. I’m not sure how they arrived at the amount. It’s a little better than half that I figured I over paid, but enough to settle the dust. I do give their customer service credit for good service, they are anxious to have the negative star rating removed. So to be fair, I have changed my star rating to a three, meeting them at the half way point as they did my refund. —————————— I’d say, by the time you are reading this, you are already a victim. Unknown at the time, somehow, during the reservation call to the hotel, this company takes over the call and you’re actually booking thru them. I didn’t realize this until checked out and saw charges on my invoice for a room that had already been paid for when booked. When I saw this, the hotel clerk saw that getaroom.com had actually made the booking. They said this happens fairly often, you call the hotel reservation number and unknown to you during a transfer, they capture the call. I now realize I overpaid for my room, $174 vs. $134 and was charged a $8.99 reservation fee. I see, compared to others reviews, I was lucky to only be overcharged nearly $50 but it’s still a scam and needs to be called out. They are hijacking the call and charging more than the hotel would charge, all under the cover of deceiving you. Playing back the events of the call, I thought it strange how much they stressed my reservation and any charges were non refundable. They double booked me and will not refund Booked a room through this company via a link sent to me by our volleyball club. Accidentally booked for 1 night and meant to book for 2. Called within two hours of booking to “change” the reservation to 2 nights. Unfortunately they did not have an extra night available for the room I originally booked so they offered me a different room at a higher rate which I accepted. Showed up to check into my room inly to find out that they didnt change my reservation at all. They booked me for another room at 2 nights. Now they are refusing to refund my first reservation. I requested a copy of the “recorded call” and was told I would receive a copy within 72 hours. NOTHING has been sent to me. When I reply to their email they are now telling me for contractural reasons I am unable to receive a copy of the recording. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
