Extraordinary Family African Journey There are not enough superlatives to describe the service, knowledge, and professionalism of Where It All Began. If you are looking for an organization who knows Africa inside and out and want to be hooked up with wonderful Safari reserves, tour guides and any other type of activity you desire, this is your Company. As well, we were contacted daily with updates and follow ups. Where it All Began did not let us down from the time we began planning this complicated 3 week trip for 6 individuals of varying ages which began five years ago and got stalled repeatedly due to COVID.

I am not quite sure how I came across… I am not quite sure how I came across Philip of Where it all began(What great name for the company!) on my various excursions into the internet to put together a 50 wedding anniversary trip to Southern Namibia andS.A., but I am very pleased that I did. Philip with his extensive knowledge of travel around Southern Africa was only to pleased to provide me with with some great ideas for our special trip and provide prices for various aspects of the trip that were I believe extremely competitive. Nothing was too much for him and when he said he would get back to me thats exactly what happened. I would heartily recommend Philip and his company to anybody endeavouring to put together a personalised and bespoke trip to Southern Africa. From my personal experience you won't be disappointed!

Perfect holiday Perfect holiday! Having stayed with Phil when he used to run Parker Cottage in Cape Town and receiving fantastic help and support there, we were keen to try out Where It All Began! We couldn't have been happier. I travel a lot with work and am pretty confident about moving around. What Phil offers however is fantastic properties which I would never have found.....a wonderful, quirky B&B in Swellendam where we ate the best meal we've ever had anywhere in the world, the most sumptious B&B in The Crags which rated as my husband's favourite place he has ever stayed....I could go on!! We would highly recommend Where It All Began - it will ensure you see the bits of the country you would never have otherwise found, all within budget and as others have said, delivered with a personal care and attention that's hard to match! The highlight of our trip! Phil at Where It All Began was so helpful in finding us the perfect safari accommodation. There were so many choices, it was overwhelming. Phil listened to what I wanted from the experience and helped us choose a place. My only regrets is that we didn’t allow more time at the lodge he found for us. We hoped to see the Big Five, of course, and we did. But there was a lot more to our experience than that. The ranger, tracker, staff, and accommodations were amazing and beyond our expectations. Phil helped us with other plans and ideas too, and I’d recommend his services highly. Increasingly, in the age of do it yourself travel planning, I’m seeing the real value in hiring an agent who knows the local landscape.

Time of my life with ethical partners that are environmentally conscious I had the time of my life with Where It All Began navigating my 14 day South Africa & Zimbabwe trip in October 2022! Cape Town: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pilanesburg, Hermanus Zimbabwe: Victoria Falls Single US Traveler Food - local, full service, & touristy Lodging/Game Resort/Bed & Breakfast - eco-friendly, luxurious, spacious, and staffing that will exceed your expectations at every turn Activities - mountain hiking, whale kayaking, African cooking experience, guided/walking tours: Victoria Falls, Mandela House/Soweto, local townships, big five game viewing, District 6, Robben Island, etc. Guidelines - They were up to date on the travel restrictions and guidelines to help ensure your trip goes smoothly. The power outages that are the normal occurrence in that part of the country did NOT take away from the experience. Con I prefer to utilize the local black businesses in every place I travel and I was unable to partake of those as much due to the local climate and the travel agency.
