MXDo not rent from this company I had a reservation through car rental.com for a car from this company in Monterrey, Mexico. When I arrived to pick up the car, the company wanted to sell me their own expensive insurance. They did not did not accept the third party insurance which I had just purchased and showed them in writing. They did not provide the car. I had to find another rental car at the airport my self . By the way, do not make reservation through car rental.com either since they do not stand behind their own reservations/contracts.

AUSo easy & great to book with! So easy & great to book with! Trying to book and organise travel over the internet from as far away as Australia isn't easy. However, booking with Americacarrental.com is the exception. The web site is clear, easy to follow instructions and a breeze to book and pay for car rentals. Thanks and I can't wait for our epic holiday!

CAAvoid if you can Not the type of person to leave a review (especially a negative one) but felt that this was important for others not be scammed by americars like we did. If I could give a -10 I would. Run if you can, I had the worst experience with americars. First, the office is not in the airport and we had no idea of this once we arrived at the airport. We kept calling them to have a shuttle but no response from customer serivce. We ended up wasting 2 hours at the airport before we could finally speak to someone. To our surprise, our reservation was canceled once we arrived and had to pay $40 to reactivate our reservation. Then they kept charging us multiple fees. We were actually charged twice for the same fees and the manager in Fort Lauderdale didn't even bother to fix this. After multiple days of calling, I was finally able to speak to Bernardo (head manager) and he told us that he would compensate us for this whole situation. Two weeks later, nothing from him ( not surprised) and every time I called they would found excuses for me not to speak to a manager. After MULTIPLE calls, I was finally able to speak to the Fort Lauderdale manager and guess what? He didn't give a S about our experience and didn't bother to find a solution. I spoke to him about the conversation I had with Bernardo, he didn't care. Two weeks after dropping off the car, I'm still getting charged for fees I already paid . SCAM at all cost. Avoid americars at all cost if you can. Just pay extra with another company for piece of mind. Oh forgot to mention, if you are Canadian don't bother booking with them they will not accept your car insurance coverage letter and you will have to pay an additionnal car insurance coverage. Do not recommand. Worst decision to book with americars.
