GBTotal ripoff by American car rental Reserved car on there website and purchased their insurance on the same website. When i picked up the car (cabo San Lucas airport) they said the insurance was not acceptable and proceeded to charge me another $300.00 for another insurance policy. And gave me an old worn out car! Total ripoff! I can be contacted at 802-296-1516

AUEasy on line process Easy on line process. Difficult when living in Australia with time difference but American car rental makes it easy with on line bookings or if you need to talk to customer service someone from England will ring so time difference not as great. Have booked 3 times with American car rentals, once through customer service and twice online, easy everytime.

GBI am saying 5 stars at the moment as… I am saying 5 stars at the moment as everything so far has been easy to deal with, great website, great savings. I will review again once I've actually got to America and hired the vehicle, I suppose it is only then that we will know how good the company is 😁😁

GBBooked online through rocket travel… Booked online through rocket travel from a T-Mobile special. Americars . Paid up front on my AmEx card for one week plus taxes. Difficult communicating with the employee on the phone. Went to pick up the car off site and was told I needed proof of insurance. In Massachusetts you do not need proof of insurance because you get your license and registration through your insurance company. The paperwork did not say I needed to bring that only my license and credit card. At first they wanted just $1,000 security on my credit card, then they said they needed another $2500. I said I needed a ride back to the airport. No car no refund. Once at the airport I went directly to budget and was given a car no questions asked no proof of insurance and was not even asked for it. This was my first time renting with them and it will be my last. I'm a frequent car renter. Don't take a chance, rent with a on-site company.

GBI rented a car with Economy through…Priceline I rented a car with Economy through Priceline for $91.33. When I got to the Agency location in Cancun, I was charged an extra $210 for insurance even though I had my insurance card, a premium credit card with insurance coverage, and the Priceline contract that did not list an insurance cost. Economy would not provide me a vehicle unless I paid the exorbitant insurance charge. When I called Priceline I was told that the $91 charge was to hold the reservation and the Rental company could charge whatever else it wanted. Lesson No. 1 learned is that you should not book through a third party as there is no recourse and you can be charged whatever the agency wants. Lesson 2 is that once you book directly with a rental company, you should read all documents to be sure there are no insurance add ons.
