AUCan take a reservation but can't keep it.... After hours of searching the internet for places to stay in New York for 10 nights from 29/12/17 to 7/1/2018 l found an apartment in east 65th street and booked through New York stay who at the time seemed professional and the payment for the 10 nights was fully paid upfront, so this was now a paid and confirmed reservation. On advising them of our flight details well in advance they could not give me any check in details and asked if we could check in between 11am and 12pm and said they would provide me with these 24 hours prior. Still 24 hours before no check in details were provided other than call someone called Fabio when we arrived at jfk airport. Arriving at JFK airport l call Fabio to let him know we arrived at should be at the apartment by 12pm, he said no problem just call me when you are 5 minutes away, so I call and no answer. We arrive at the apartment a family of four with 5 suitcases and it's -11 degrees, absolutely freezing and Fabio is not there to greet us and let us in. I call Fabio and he answers and says he can't get to us for another couple of hours and we have to wait for him. I was annoyed and found this very unprofessional as you can't leave guests in the cold and fail in advance to give check in details despite numerous emails to New York stay and calling in advance. When Fabio finally arrives and because I was so annoyed, he cancels the reservation and we have nowhere to stay, an absolute nightmare, merely because this incompetent and unprofessional organisation could not provide any check in details. I would never book with them and warn people not to as I was concerned it was all a scam and then it took weeks and numerous emails to get my money back. No one needs this stress when travelling!!

AUPrice rises and poor service - DO NOT BOOK THROUGH NEW YORK STAYS My family and I were planning to travel from Australia to New York city and stay for 10-12 days. We made a booking through New York stay about 9 months prior to travel. We made an instant booking and paid our deposit of a bit more than $1000. At that point the price of the apartment was raised by circa $900USD for the length of the stay. With a non-refundable deposit there was little options for us. We could either pay more for the apartment we had spent hours researching or we could downgrade. About 4 months before travel we finally locked in our flights and at that point wanted to change our booking from 13 nights to 12 nights. New York Stay advised that would be fine but we would still have to pay the full amount. So four months before travelling and with a reduction from 13 to 12 nights - still pay the same amount. This means that in effect the price went up again by $700USD. So since booking and paying our non-refundable deposit the accommodation had increased in price by a total of $1700USD. At this point we decided to cancel our reservation and forfeit our $1000USD deposit. With little confidence the price would not rise again and the ongoing traumatic experience of dealing with this service provider - it's just not worth ruining your holiday. There are lots of ways to book accommodation in NYC. I strongly suggest to NOT BOOK WITH NEW YORK STAYS

AUBest way to stay in NYC We used NewYorkStay our first time in NYC a few years ago and had a great time despite a couple of glitches at the beginning (apartment unavailable the night we arrived; very hard to contact the landlord etc). This time it couldn't have gone more smoothly and the landlord left helpful notes and tips for the area, etc. It's so much more fun than staying in an overpriced hotel.

CHsoho loft in howard street great loft - perfect host (grateful to him for some very useful advice). you'd never think broadway is just a few yards away and honestly, do you really want to be part of all these sheep-herd-like tourists driven through gates and barriers? just running from one sightseeing place to the next and completely missing out NY. this place gives you the chance to LIVE for some days in NY, even more, it almost forces you to live this experience. if sterile, 0815 plushy hotel-rooms are your thing, then stay away. if you enjoy to have "smile to go", a wonderful cafe, just two steps away, to pick up your morning cafe latte together with croissants or scones and meet people in the street, then it's a must. unforgettable.

USGreat Loft Apartment in SOHO (Little Italy) Staying in this beautiful apartment in a great location made our stay in NYC very special. The apartment is big, clean and extremely conveniently located. The owner, Larry met us and was very helpful explaining the area to us. When we come back to NYC this is where we will stay again.
