GBWent to Egypt with A&K Went to Egypt with A&K. - Communication was poor - several times had to email repeatedly to get answers. - Clothes they said were required on tours was incorrect. Caused me to have to purchase clothes that were more suitable on the trip - Tipping suggestions were not correct. - Only one meal provided was good - chicken was chewy and dinner options were limited and not what I would expect on an expensive tour. Although food on the Nike Cruise Boat was great. - My food restrictions were not passed on to Egypt. - Out Egyptian guide was wonderful. My issues are more with the US team and not the tour guides. This was during the Israel issues and there was no communication prior to the trip concerning this. I doubt I will travel with them in the future.

GBThe last disappointing trip I'll be taking with A&K Just returned from a Cruise down the Mekong River. So disappointing, the guides, the side trips, the lack of preparatory information about clothing to bring, unbearably hot/humid tmeperature, the food (I got bad food poisoning on board, it was the only food I ate and A&K just ignored the whole issue). I made two other trips with them - Egypt and Peru - and see it's a real pattern with them. In Egypt and Peru, it was so amazing to be there that I ignored the lackluster tours. A&K doesn't seem to monitor the job their guides are doing at all. In Egypt, the guide droned on about every hieroglyphic but nothing else, in Peru how the rocks were chiseled together and on the Mekong no over view as to the 3 countries we were visiting. Moreover, there is really nothing to see along the Mekong except mud, and poverty stricken Cambodians trying to eek out an existence. What a waste of time and money. NEVER AGAIN!!

GB.Refund of monies SCAM . June 1st, 2020 cancelled a trip to Egypt & Jordan due to COVID 19 concerns. To my great shock, I was told it would take 4-6 weeks for A&K to process the return of my monies (over $20K). Now I am not stupid....it does not take that long to enter my credit card in their machine and hit the button "refund money". I asked the agent if I was booking a new trip and needed to make the required deposit, how long would it take them to process my payment....her quick response was "oh, it would be done immediately!" The takeaway is that when A&K wants money...that transaction can be done immediately....but when the guest wants a return of their money.....gee that transaction takes 4-6 weeks. It is obviously NOT a priority to return money to a guest. It's best for them to have my money sitting in their bank account. You have to wonder....what else is not a priority for A&K?

GBThis is my first trip with Abercrombie & Kent This is my first trip with Abercrombie & Kent. I’ve been on several trips with National Geographic and loved those. I wanted to try a different tour operator and see how they compare to National Geographic. The trip is 2 months off and already I’m having my doubts. Multiple emails from different people asking for the exact same information, namely flight arrangements. I keep telling each person when I sent the requested information and to whom. Nothing much about the trip itinerary yet or who will be leading the tour. By now with National Geographic I would have had that information and would have been provided with a list of suggested reading materials to learn more about the tour destinations. So far, I’m less than impressed. This is supposed to be a top tier tour operator…they certainly charge top tier prices. Time will tell

GBWe took the Singapore & Malaysia tour We took the Singapore & Malaysia Tapestry of cultures. It was a Marco Polo tour which is supposed to be their best and a small group. There were 13 of us and we all agreed this would be our last trip with them. This was billed as a foodie experience and the places they took us were awful. Experiences like a special mahjong class touted as an A&K exclusive experience vanished. The A&K representative apologized at the end of our trip saying he knew this was not the trip we expected. Since we didn't receive events as stated in the description we requested that they give use partial refund. Everyone on the tour complained to A&K in detail about everything that went wrong. We were offered $1000 toward another trip. This is not a way to treat repeat customers.
