SCAMMERS! Sunrun’s sales rep Kyle Marshall lied to my face! He assured me that if my roof is old Sunrun would replace it at no cost to me prior to the installation of solar panels. Based on this assurance, I signed a contract that same day. A couple of weeks later I received a report, stating that my roof is good. Now, only a few months later my roof is leaking! I have reports (with pictures and drone video) from 3 accredited roofing companies who clearly show that the roof has multiple cracks, missing and broken shingles, exposed roof nails, there are numerous spots with algae and moss, indicating that the shingles are letting water get through, etc. It is absolutely clear that the solar panels should never have been installed on a roof in such conditions. I have exchanged several dozen text messages, emails, and phone calls with Sunrun’s so-called “customer support” who are openly rude and unhelpful. After 3 weeks of daily messages on my part, a case was finally open. The case manager, Judith Jordan, had the audacity to tell me that there is no leak in my home! Even though I have proof to the contrary from 3 roofing companies! Now Sunrun wants to charge me to remove the solar panels; panels, which should not have been installed in the first place! I have spoken with several other families in the neighborhood, who have signed with Sunrun, and they all confirm that the same has happened with them – the sales representatives would offer to replace the roof and even cut down nearby trees to maximize access to sunlight, but once the contracts were signed, none of this has been done. This is a clearly established pattern of misrepresenting their services. Additionally, Sunrun ignores / doesn’t warn the property owner of the poor condition of the roof, because later, when damages occur, Sunrun can charge the house owner extra for removing and reinstalling the panels. This is not simply negligence but an intention to defraud! Frankly, it borders on extortion! I am filing complaints with the county and state division of consumer affairs, and with the BBB. Sunrun’s dishonest and predatory practices, and abusive behavior to their customers should not be allowed to continue!

Disconnected sewer pump-6 months later no solar connection Going on our sixth month of having panels on the roof, but still not connected/fully installed. When they put the panels on the roof, the electrical installers removed our electrical connection to our sump pump/ejector pump which caused a sewer back in the home. Cost me an additional $2000 for any emergency pump, for which Sun Run still hasn’t reimbursed. They had their team come out and reconnect electrical connection to pump, but that’s not really good enough. I would avoid using Sun Run if I had the option to do this again. The only reason I worked with them was due to their connection with Costco, which, from my experience, chooses good vendors to work with. I will not be surprised if Costco discontinues this relationship moving forward.

Will dox you to random strangers I have had almost no problems with the service, the setup and the sale rep were very up front about how long things take to get permitted in Hawaii and that I wasn't charged until the service was fully operational. That was all great. But then 2 years into having the system working flawlessly, I get this guy, Josh Robinson, contact me from Sunrun. Josh told me I needed a solar checkup and to send him my power bill. So I sent him a screenshot of my power bill and he sent me back a power bill of another customer as an example. This power bill was for someone on a different island and it was entirely unredacted. I could see the name, address, account number, payment methods, phone number, etc. All was there on this. I raised a concern to Josh and he blew me off, in fact he hung up on me when I got upset that he didn't think it was a big deal. So I called his boss and his boss downplayed it as well. These guys don't take your privacy seriously and will just randomly dox you to other customers!!!

Beware of Sunrun's contract scam I scheduled a consultation with Sunrun as I was exploring installing solar panels. He came to my place with my colleague and the meeting went well until he told me the next step was to sign a paper so the Sunrun team could come to my place and measure the roof. He presented me with his iPad and told me all he needed was my signature on the page. I said I was uncomfortable signing a document I didn't read, and he pressured me to sign. I refused and asked to see the document instead. It turns out it was the purchase agreement for the solar system with a price of over $13k and he wanted me to sign it. I was very upset, ended the meeting, and escorted both sales guys out of my house. This was a very bad trick, and I'm sure some people would have signed the contract without knowing they were purchasing the system. Beware of Sunrun's misleading sales techniques

The Sunrun failed inspection seven… The Sunrun failed inspection seven times and they didn't do anything. It's been happening for about two years and they don't correct the issues. And the manager never picks up the phone or returns calls because too many complaints I guess. Choosing the Sunrun is the biggest mistake.
