GBBeware being mis-sold I would strongly recommend caution before hiring these people or indeed Hertz who own them. I hired a car from their Alicante office via RentalCars.Com. The total price for three days was just over £40 which I paid in advance. On collecting the car I made clear to the Firefly representative that I had my own specialist car hire insurance and did not need anything further from them. I even specifically asked, before signing and initialing the document he gave me, that I had nothing more to pay. After I returned the car, no invoice was sent but my credit card was charged £164 (4 times the cost of the rental!) - they refused to repay this on the grounds that I had signed a document taking out some form of super cover, which they must have known I did not need. I complained to the European Car Rental Conciliation Service who just pointed out that I had signed the form and was therefore liable. What the Conciliation Service failed to consider was whether others have been scammed in this way, and whether representatives have any financial incentive to make customers take out such extras without understanding what they are. If the leaders of this company had any integrity they would monitor complaints such as this, explain how the incentives for staff work and publish guidance for staff making it clear that mis-selling will not be tolerated. For us customers, my advice is to be very careful with all hire companies to check what you are signing - the forms look to be deliberately obscure!

PL32 EUR robbery at Valencia airport Made the reservation through Ryanair at Valencia airport. This company charged me 32 EUROS without informing me for the option called "my choice" where I suppose to have a choice of the car. However I was not given any choice. Pure robbery.

GBWorse company ever Worse company ever. 10 agents sitting around, no customers and no one wants to help with my reservation. Then they want to charge me an extra $600. I get home and I find I'm charged from Hertz???? I have no phone reception to call Expedia since I'm in Mexico and they won't let me use their phone.

GBI hired a car from Firefly but will never do that again I hired a car from Firefly, through Holiday Autos, in Seville from 17-28 March 2024. Everything was fine until a few days after I returned to the UK and found c£450, unexpected unaccounted and unexplained, taken from my credit card. Despite their claim to respond to all queries in 3 days, I have now been waiting for 8 days with no response. The customer query form on the Firefly / Hertz site does not work. I would certainly not use them again.

GBA scam I would give a zero if I could.weI picked up the car at Alicante airport with precooked car and insurance cover from Booking.com. Staff appeared to acknowledge it but added extra insurance and taxes without explaining it and asked us to give our credit card details and signed the hire agreement We thought it was just for a guarantee during the time we had the car. After returned home our credit was charged £187! We contacted the company but no response. We complained to Booking.com and awaiting the outcome. Avoid this company at all cost. Will never hire a car abroad again.
