Fishing for a sale I've bought tires and wheels from Hogan in Beverly for over 30 years. Today I went in for a simple wheel/tire swap (winter to summer), something Hogan has done for me on my cars for years. For the first time ever, 3 of the staff inspected my summer tires and claimed they were dangerous with early 'dry rot' detected and refused to swap the tires, suggesting I needed 4 new ones. The date code was Feb-16, making the tires 8 years old. They claimed that DOT law prohibited them from swapping them. I can find no proof of that online, only 'suggestions'. The high quality Goodyears (bought at Hogan) have maybe 8K on them and are in excellent condition, with no detectable deterioration and min 3/4 tread depth left. I am a car guy and keep my vehicles in top shape. I stopped using Direct Tire in the '80s when I witnessed multiple 'up-selling' scenarios while waiting for tire service - 'did you know your brakes are dangerous?' 'Let me show you why you need new shocks', etc. I suspect that Hogan staff is now incentivized to do the same - there's a new crew there. I'm never going back. Good luck trading on ignorance and fear, guys.

Avoid the Westwood Ma store Avoid this tire shop. I called Hogan Tire in Westwood on 11/9/23 to order tires for my Toyota tacoma off road (the online site said they were not in stock). They made an appointment for me to have them installed on Sat 11/11/23. After waiting there for 2 hours they informed me that the new tires would not fit my truck. My truck truck has 16" rims and apparently they ordered tires for a tacoma sport that uses a 17" rim. Mistakes happen and I can deal with that, but why not just admit that they made a mistake? They suggested that I didn't know what model truck I owned and that's what caused the confusion. That is unacceptable to me. That would have been the 3rd set of tires I purchased from Hogan tire in the last 2 years (I own a few vehicles). A little respect towards your customers would do a lot to earn repeat business. I'm not going to say the customer is always right, but I will say I know what model vehicles I own. This mistake was on them and they refused to admit it. I waited a day to see it a manager would contact me and try to make things right, but that never happened. There's to many tire shops around to be treated like that. I would avoid Hogan Tire in Westwood.

Tire fell off I am only writing this review so that it doesn't happen to anyone else. Hogan and Sons replaced my brakes, rotors and replaced two tires. I drove my car for a weekend and had to return it for the tires to be balanced. it wasn't riding right. They said the tires were out of balance, so they balanced them. This was a Tuesday. I didn't drive my car on Wednesday. On Friday, three of my lug nuts fell off and I almost lost my tire. I had to have it repaired in PA. When I called them to tell them what happened, not much happened. So I called the next day and spoke to the manager. He did not apologize, all he said was that they looked at the tape and it was not their fault. I asked whose fault it was then and he had no answer. They didn't offer anything to me. Not compensation, apology or any other explanation. I will not be returning to them for service in the future.

Stay Away!! Zero! Absolute scum. Bought new tires 4,500 miles ago. Went back for the free tire rotation and alignment. Little Colin sends me a video showing work that needs to be done in order to do the alignment. At first it was $4,300..fine I agree, says I’ll have it back in 2days before the weekend. Calls me back says it will be another $2k to make the truck right. Complete scum, Friday comes I’m ready to pick up the truck and said there’s an issue with the tie rod on the test drive and the truck won’t be ready. Just picked up my truck today and got me for another $600 and a healthy scratch on my front bumper that they deny doing that probably happened on the test drive. Offered to get a quote to repair but I need the truck, already spent a week without it. Thieves! Stay away!

prices way out there I requested a quote from Hogan Tire in Houlton, ME. their quote for a General Tire Rt 43 was over$1,000 for 4 tires inclusive of road hazard, taxes, balance and mounting as well as taking the old tires. Stanley Auto had offered a new tire (the Rt 45_) for a little over $800 for a better tire. not for nothing Hogan tire is getting a name for over the top pricing.
