GBLost and Stolen, Avis Does not TRY at all On 22 March,2024 I returned a truck that I rented from Miami Airport the week before and exchanged it for a car at Palm Beach international airport, Unknowingly, I left a Ryobi pressure cleaner in the backseat and when I realized this later I filed a lost item report, # 19206369. Over the next week and a half checked with the lost and found at Avis but it never showed up. I checked for two weeks. I called a few times no call would ever go through. On April 4th I drove to the Avis at Palm Beach County airport to speak directly to someone at the counter to see what happened. They had no information. They told me my item was never logged in to lost and found in Avis. Frustrated I spoke to one of the customer service reps, Frank, that accepts cars and removes anything that that might've been left in the car. Frank clearly remembered the truck because it stayed in the same place for a couple of days where I parked it. He remembered seeing the pressure cleaner in it and he had no idea what happened to it, but he remembered clearly that it was in there. He thought maybe somebody had taken the truck home and somebody had taken the pressure cleaner and not turned it in. This constitutes theft. I've spent a lot of time every day checking to see if it's showing up and lost and found, calling and then having to drive all the way up to the airport all because somebody didn't do the job that they were required to do and were stealing my personal possessions. I have since filed a police report on this theft and gave a copy of this to Avis and they have done NOTHING to Try Harder to make things right

GBBooked a car online Booked a car online, advertised free cancellation. First it advertises 792 USD for the car, on top of which come fees not advertised. With all insurances it costs 1449 that was directly charged to my credit card. I had to call AVIS as regardless of having cancelled it online my credit card was charged 1449 USD, not just pending. Then I called and learnt that either I would pay online at a lower price or pay upon pickup about 150 more and then it would be a free cancellation. However regardless of my choice on the homepage it said free cancellation. On the phone then I learnt that cancellation costs 50 USD. I asked for money back, for cancellation to be waived and overall can only say that renting a car overall is like getting into a racket these days. The fine print is at ≤6pt in size and goes directly against what is printed in bolt at 24pt, like the cancellation fee. Why would someone advertise a price that with insurance and fees is just half of what the actual price is in the end? I would never book a car from AVIS again. The entire homepage is littered with asterisks, because with nearly everything being advertised it is limited to whatever. Make up your mind, AVIS, you are professionally dishonest and that's really all you would get a five star rating for.

NLTotal scam is Avis / Budget Total scam is Avis / Budget. Rented a car for 106Euro. Had to pay 179Euro extra for ‘something i signed for’. A windshield protection. They mislead you in signing a vague contract and threaten you with large 3.500 Euro fines for a tiny scratch. DO NOT RENT HERE EVER. This happened at Malaga airport.

SGProvided a smaller vehicle than what I paid for I received a confirmed rental agreement about 1 month prior to collecting my vehicle. When I arrived for collection, I was told they only had 1 vehicle left, which was smaller than what I paid for and couldn't accommodate my luggage, so my family was stuck with a 16kg bag resting across the lap of 2 family members seated in the back seat. When I returned the vehicle to AVIS, I was advised to lodge an email complaint with AVIS Management. I did. It has now been 1 week and no response at all, not even an acknowledgment. The ratings tell you all you need to know about this company.

GBI DO have reservations about Avis Ever wonder what the difference is between making a car rental reservation and just walking up to the Avis counter? At Avis, there apparently is NO difference. Avis can (and just did) call you up in mid-flight to tell you that when you land, you won't really have a rental car available. The agent took it to the next level by leaving me a phone number to return her call. The phone number was to Budget Car Rentals. Avis 3401 SW 11th St -Ste 10 Lawton, OK-73501 Long story short, Enterprise Car Rental was able to save the day yet again. I should have gone to Enterprise first but they weren't an option on the American Airlines reservations site.
