PLEASE BEWARE PLEASE BEWARE! I do not recommend that you rent from NU Car Rentals/Horsepower Car Rental. When I booked the reservation online, my initial total was $36.10 in March of 2024. I did not purchase the online insurance because my personal car insurance covers all rentals. It is necessary to note that I have NEVER had a problem with ANY car rental companies accepting my insurance. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the rental counter, they stated that they only accepted specific insurance that did not include mine. Within a few minutes, my rental jumped from $36.10 to $196.55! This pricing difference left me feeling swindled and aggravated. After speaking to my insurance agent, he also confirmed that he has never had an issue utilizing this insurance with a car rental company. NU CAR RENTALS/HORSEPOWER CAR RENTALS IS DECEPTIVE AND A SCAM! Save yourself the frustration and rent elsewhere.

This company is dishonest and you will… This company is dishonest and you will find no recourse for your troubles. Do not rent from NU. They offered a nice upgrade for a fair fee but then charged the original invoice plus the full amount for the new rental. My four day rental of 23.00/day was 351.00. You cannot reach anyone who will help and they email that the charges are accurate. So I paid for 2 cars at the same time even though I only got one car. This place cannot stay in business operating like this. Don't do it.

When entering I was rudely treated unprofessionally, racially profiled and discriminated against by members of Management not associates. The Administration (Management) a woman and Hispanic male in back offices stated they were contacted by police that I was being investigated and consequently this led to the most inhumane, unprofessional, despicable, demeaning experience. I paid for my reservation and never retrieved vehicle but sadly had to leave due to the extreme misconduct and blatant unprofessionalism I endured. I would like an explanation as to how and why this could happen, I am a first time customer. I booked with Priceline. After filing. The manager was at the counter the entire day and did not observe any behavior as described in the statement from the customer. OMG, AN ADDITIONAL FEE FOR EVERYTHING, THEY WANT TO PUT A 700 HOLD ON UR CARD, YOU COME RETURN THE CAR, THEY TRY TO LOOK FOR THE SLIGHTEST DE T ON THE CAR AND ACCUSE U OF DOING IT!!!! RUN RUN FROM THIS CAR RENTAL. ON THE DAY OF RESERVATION, 3 POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS WENT BACK TO THE AIRPORT AFTER THEY GAVE THEM THEIR RULES N REGULATIONS ON CAR RENTAL. OMGGG NEVER AGAIN!!!
