No option to use without internet connection I have had SmartDraw for technical engineering documents for several years. I upgraded in late 2022 and found the current version only works if I have an internet connection available. I was given the impression that downloading a desktop version would allow a non-connected working environment, but it does not. A query to user support reports this is true. This is a killer for my use and I would not have upgraded if it has been clear the limitations.

Rip Off Software with hidden fees Very average software which you are sneakily subscribed up to when you pay for a year. Then when you try to cancel to stop paying they say you only had 30 days. Even cancelling your credit card doesnt stop them charging as AMEX allow an old card to be used for ongoing payments!

Dark pricing patterns Okay tool, but dark pricing patterns on the "buy" page which makes me not trust the company. Right now, the pricing says $9.95 per month, billed annually. That's not $9.95 per month, $119.40. Pricing like that usually implies the ability to switch to monthly pricing, at a more expensive rate - instead, they're using an unethical pattern for pricing. The tool is fine, but the pricing model makes it an unacceptable business to work with. There are much much better tools available that offer annual AND monthly pricing (Whimsical, Mural, Miro, Figma, etc.).

Avoid at all cost. 2013 Smartdraw version. Of all the software packages I've used over the decades, this is the worst. Many bugs and deficiencies. I greatly regret having chosen this for software documenation as I now have to convert all my drawings to another drawing package. As for technical support....forget it.

A great company, a great software Smartdraw is just simply, practical and everyone can find beautiful and very profesional charts to use. I like specially the new infographics and, of course his very large library of icons and symbols. I can add so mucha features like tabs, connecting points to reate your owns shapes and son on. The service is very good (I started to use Smartdraw in 1999!), I recommend SD everywhere, all of the books I was write have at least one graph create on any of their versions.
