GBFull Refund! I was recently sold a car by a AA approved dealer that turned out to have a lot of faults. The seller then argued over many emails that the issues with the car were normal wear and tear and I was not entitled to a refund. I know nothing about cars or my consumer rights so eventually I turned to the AA mediation service who (by some miracle) managed to persuade the seller that a refund was the only way to resolve the dispute. Today I have received a full refund within a couple of weeks of contacting AA mediation who were very professional throughout.

GBPlease do not trust the AA approved cars/dealerships before checking everything I can only speak from my own experience but I believe this could happen to any other consumer who is looking for a second hand vehicle, if not happening on regular basis. Long story short, I've been misled to buy a faulty Peugeot 208 GT EV. Along with the visual appeal and the satisfaction after the test drive, what has sold the car was an all pass/zero faults AA Inspection Report. During the dispute, I have found out some disturbing details. Since the AA engineer's name is anonymous, I contacted the Company directly. They refused to give an answer to my direct queries. On 01/03/2024 the vehicle has failed its MOT test. Reason: one dangerous defect and one major. The date coincides with the date of the AA Inspection Report. The first irregularity starts with the mileage. As per the document, the AA engineer road tested the vehicle for 6 miles, starting from 21702. The MOT certificate states 21703. The mileage difference suggests that the AA inspection precedes the MOT test. After a 6-mile drive the mileage should be 21708. The question that instantly appears is 'Was the car driven for one mile only or not driven at all?'. Second irregularity: AA Report PASS, with no damage to tyres + wheels and fully operational wipers. The MOT test registered two FAILS: Tyre has a bulge, caused by separation or partial failure of its structure Offside Front Inner (sidewall has 2 bulges) / • Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (both blades). Meaning the vehicle is dangerous to drive and repairs should be made immediately. Both defects are visually detectable. The above does not include the other faults that occurred, with one of them related to safety. AA also avoided a written reply. Please check for similar discrepancies! The process of returning a faulty car is exhausting and expensive. You better say 'no' in advance.

GBAmazing, reassuring service from start to finish I had an issue with a car and didn't know my rights. After seeking advice from Victoria Greenwood at AA cars, they agreed that the problem shouldn't have happened and happily took on my case and mediated the whole process. She agreed with the dealer that the parts would be paid for and I received a payment back from the dealer in due time. I was extremely happy with the whole process and it took a massive weight off my shoulders. Vicki was always in contact via email and phone to let me know any updates. Great service and highly recommended if you have a problem.

GBMy Savior in a Dealership Dilemma! I usually don't find myself writing reviews, but I have to commend Bonnie, who was my knight in shining armor during a recent ordeal with a dealership. I found myself in a bit of a pickle with a third-party dealership, feeling like I was stuck in a maze with no way out. That's when Bonnie stepped in and brought clarity and resolution to the situation. From the get-go, she exuded professionalism while still being incredibly approachable and understanding. Bonnie wasn't just a mediator; she was a beacon of hope. She listened intently to my concerns, empathised with my frustration, and then sprang into action. With her expertise and finesse, she navigated the complexities of the situation with ease, all the while keeping me informed and assured along the way.
