Today I was dreading the final move Today I was dreading the final move, but was pleasantly surprised. Alex, Carlos & Agustin were awesome ! totally pros, polite,friendly . Black Bear will F#%$& you over. Black Bear is the WORST company I have ever interacted with, and that is not a statement I use lightly. I’m easily pleased, I’m a generally positive person. But the lying, thieving, and mismanagement of this company is BEYOND ME. I was quoted for 1800, then after they picked up my items they charged me 2500 and refused to explain why when I said that was outrageous. My items were shipped over A MONTH later than the date they gave me and my dresser, table, and my nightstand we’re damaged. The table is unusable and the dressers will last a few months more as long as the cracks and chips don’t wear too badly. They lost an ENTIRE box of my items, containing sentimental things I’ve owned since I was very young and have no idea where it is and refuse to help. They have offered no help, no refund, and even under new management all they are doing is trying to sweep everything under the rug. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I wish I listened to the reviews before me and stayed the hell away. Don’t be like me, STAY THE HELL AWAY!

Business Move Business Move Was a great experience knowing i was under pressure to move quickly. My company had to finish packing and they did such a great job wrapping and securing our items. I am glad that even on such short notice they were able to fit me. It seemed expensive but considering the timeline i provided, the packing the was needed, and ultimately the distance i was traveling, it was so worth it.

Horrible experience Horrible experience. The sales person Leo was sly enough to quote a really low price for the items we wanted to move and got us to pay them some amount in advance. During the moving day, the vehicle drivers started fussing about the items and increased the price from $1500 to $2200 without even entering the house and seeing how much space the items occupied. On calling Leo, he was pretty unpleasant to talk to, did not even try to hear what I was saying and kept on saying that this is what you get. It’s unfair for companies like this one to harass customers on the day the move was planned knowing that customers will be helpless. This company is the worst I have experienced so far with rude people who will harass you till you have no options left and end up paying them 50% more than the quote when you signed the contract.

Don't do it! Do not make the mistake of using this moving company. Our stuff was picked up on August 13. We were initially told their target for getting our belongings to our new place was August 20 -- or August 27 at the latest. (This was a cross-country move.) However, our belongings did not come back to us until September 12. So 1-2 weeks became 30 days. We were initially quoted an amount around $3000. A couple days before the move, the amount was revised to $5000. After our belongings were in the truck, the amount went up to $6700. Communication was really bad along the way. I had to proactively call for updates, and the staff I spoke with seemed exasperated and annoyed. Some were rude and argumentative. They would often promise to call back later that day with an update, but it rarely actually happened. That said, the actual moving crews worked hard. And some (maybe half) of the staff I talked with were actually kind and helpful. But none of that changes the fact that something is deeply wrong with the way this company does business. We would have organized our move very differently if we had known the true cost and timeline. And it would have been easier to stomach the delays and price increases if the people at Black Bear had been communicative and empathetic. In short: nobody should ever use Black Bear. They will make your life miserable and, based on my own experience and the other reviews here, there's a good chance you'll pay more than twice what you're expecting.
