The smell of mouse urine is overwhelming. Do not use this storage company. You will be charged to have your belongings destroyed. Shameful.

GBStay away!! Where do I start? When I signed up for a locker I was told my rent would start on the 1st of each month. When I went to pay they insisted that I would lose my locker if I didn't pay on the day I was there making my rent due on the 20th instead of the 1st which caused me to be late monthly. THEN after about a year, I went there to pick up an item and found that the lock hasp had been hack-sawed. I contacted the management and they informed me that it was like that when I moved in - IT WAS NOT. I went back the following week, more saw marks, dents in the door and the hasp had been pried and actually had pulled one of the bolts through the metal. STILL nothing was done. I purchased a new hasp on my own from an online distributor and got the wrong one so I had to purchase another ($40 total for both). Now the door only opens 1/2 way because I had to put large washers on to hold the hasp in place. On to the next rant...Elevator was out of service for close to a year. They'd like you to believe that there are security cameras BUT they are only located at the elevators giving crooks plenty of time to saw your hasp off. Did I mention that there are people living in the storage units? There was an occasion I went to get a few items and a woman was doing her laundry in the restroom AND using 2 carts. I said something about it to the attendant who told me that as long as her cube was paid that there was nothing he could do. There's very little lighting in the unit, so I brought in a drop light so I could see what I was doing while getting things out. Recently the decided to remove all the outlets so now I have to use a flashlight. There a seldom carts available so if you need a cart, bring your own. The only good thing I can say is the staff are polite and professional.

GBHidden costs & inflexible Hidden costs (e.g. mandatory insurance, overpriced required locks, rate changes)....accommodating while moving in (e.g. cheap truck usage), but not possible to use the truck that never moves while moving out & after spending thousands with them....poor unit access to any medium to large truck....snotty management. Doubt I would ever use them again.

GB(9/27/2023) Rented a storage unit at… (9/27/2023) Rented a storage unit at their Riverview, FL facility. During the finalization of completing the Agreement on-line, it turns out that they require you to purchase one of their locks for $19.99. The only way to not purchase the lock is to go into the local office and waste your time completing the Agreement and have them remove the Mandatory lock purchase. So, much for being convenient!

GBFour months ago I rented a storage unit… Four months ago I rented a storage unit at the CubeSmart in Aransas Pass, TX at a rate of $113/mo for the first 4 months. After that the rate was supposed to increase to the normal rate that was 35% higher. Yesterday I received notice that the new rate is $250/mo—135% higher! I called the site manager in Aransas Pass who said it was a corporate decision and nothing could be done. Clearly, CubeSmart is running a bait and switch operation suckering people like me with a low introductory rate then sticking it to us. Do not rent from these unethical slime balls.
