28% rate increase Rented multiple units, within 6 months the rent increased 28 percent on each unit. A small rate increase each year is one thing, but 28 percent after only six months is absurd. The building hasn't changed, utilities didn't rise, so the only reason the company is increasing rates is for pure GREED.

(9/27/2023) Rented a storage unit at… (9/27/2023) Rented a storage unit at their Riverview, FL facility. During the finalization of completing the Agreement on-line, it turns out that they require you to purchase one of their locks for $19.99. The only way to not purchase the lock is to go into the local office and waste your time completing the Agreement and have them remove the Mandatory lock purchase. So, much for being convenient!

Cubesmart on Mayport Rd Atlantic Beach, Fl. Cubesmart on Mayport Rd. in Atlantic Beach, Fl. Everything went wrong. I just received a check for $2.00. I expected to get a lot more than that as my storage unit had a roof leak and I moved all of what I had stored there. When Pan Am owned the same place I had to move to a different locker, also due to a roof leak. I would not recommend this storage facility to anyone! I called to complain about the roof leak and was told that I had not purchased storage insurance from them (which I was not informed about) and there was nothing they could do. I figure I lost more than $600 worth of what I had stored there.

Hidden costs & inflexible Hidden costs (e.g. mandatory insurance, overpriced required locks, rate changes)....accommodating while moving in (e.g. cheap truck usage), but not possible to use the truck that never moves while moving out & after spending thousands with them....poor unit access to any medium to large truck....snotty management. Doubt I would ever use them again.

former customer The manager, DEZ, at Cubesmart DT McKinney,TX is a 5 star in my view. The gate has had a lot of issues as of late, but I found that the rent increase was definitely outrageous. Started at $70 a month and ended at $292 a month. To me this is an outrageous increased amount. So that being said, I cleared out my climate control unit and I am currently sorting through the stored items in order to not have this kind of increase on a loyal customer again. I will use Cubesmart in the future but hope management takes the following into consideration. I think there should be contracts for those of us that will pay our bills and support your business.
