About Door to Door Storage Inc.

In 1996, Door to Door revolutionized the self-storage industry by introducing portable, containerized storage in Seattle, Washington. The idea caught on quickly on the West Coast, and today Door to Door serves numerous metropolitan areas across the nation. In 1999, we took the logical next step and began offering self-service moving to our customers with the same commitment to exceeding their expectations. Today, Door to Door’s corporate headquarters is located 20 miles south of Seattle in Kent, Washington. Over the years, some companies have chosen to copy our product as closely as possible, while others claim that they have a better container. In either case, they all struggle to match our industry leading customer satisfaction ratings and enviable record of protecting possessions. Door to Door is committed to delivering quality moving and storage solutions as well as the kind of Exceptional Customer Care you will recommend to your friends and family. Through all of your life transitions, we’ll be here to take care of you.

Worst moving experience This is a company that thinks that management getting involved in a serious issue is somehow going above and beyond in service. They completely missed the pickup date, then they couldn't manage to work anything out with us for drop off. Finally, something was worked out because of the kindness and persistence of others. Customer service was rude and presumptuous. Any marginal compensation was severely delayed because it was mishandled, much like everything else. Many pieces of our furniture were damaged, even though we provided materials for packing. Would never recommend and actually will continue to advise friends and family to avoid anything to do with this "moving/storage" company.

The worst moving experience I have ever had! They messed up on both pick up and drop off. I had to do everything myself because their sales and customer service people are incapable. Their sales people promise you service that doesn't really exist! Later when you wait for the service and it never shows you have to start solving problems for the company. Put simply: take your business elsewhere, anywhere really just not door to door.

You get (if your lucky) what you pay for.. Internal tie-down handles are fixed only half way up from the unit base, so if your estimating your storage needs on notion you'll be able to secure your boxes stacked to the ceiling, guess again. And when your standing there telling your wife thru the back of your head.. "We're gonna need a bigger boat", it's going to dawn on you what a racket this is. Win-win for these guys cause you loose your hundred bucks, ect. when you cancel. ...and if you DO end up canceling, enter the " making reservations" extention (rather than existing) or you'll be on hold for hours ; )

Poor service Emails get ignored or take an age to reply, collection dates missed. They do not work well with the Universities. In the end it seems I paid for 3 boxes (only 2 were packed!), that were retained in the college halls throughout and then we had to collect ourselves.

OK experience overall- some logistical challenges though. I had a pretty reasonable experience overall - first drop off was easy but I had to figure out a good location in a tight area to arrange for loading. I had several problems with the delivery end though. First, moving to a large city there are restrictions on leaving a pod overnight (not D2Ds fault but still.) Had to unload while driver waited, had to hire help and organize timing was stressful. Second, their delivery options are limited to weekdays and they charge fees, and delay for DAYS if something changes. So I spent days in my new place sleeping on the hardwood floors without any of my stuff. I might use a pod again if I were moving to a house with a driveway but I will never move into a condo in the city with anything but a moving truck.
