GBWould not recommend We used unpakt for our move from Chicago to San Francisco. The movers came on time and honored the quote provided through the unpakt dashboard. The problems began after the movers packed up our furniture. We still haven't heard from the movers on when our furniture will be delivered. They outsourced the pickup to another 3rd party vendor who doesn't answer their phone. It's been 4 weeks now and I still cannot get a STATUS update. Unpakt customer service tells me to contact the movers. The movers tell me to contact the delivery truck. The delivery truck company doesn't answer their phone. And these guys had the HIGHEST rated reviews through unpakt. I would not recommended unpakt for anyone, just go with yelp reviews, its the same service with a higher volume of reviews off yelp.

GBNot the best choice for my move, but now they won't leave me alone! I needed movers in April of this year, and put the word out. One of the companies that I inquired with is Unpakt, and I rue that day. The initial interaction was fine; their pricing was a bit high and I went with someone else. But it's SIX MONTHS LATER and I'm still getting emails on the regular. Yes, I've moved already. My lease is halfway over. Go away!

GBYou can review your options, but you can also get cancelled at ANY TIME... I like how the company is approaching the moving process and appreciate its efforts. There is potential... However, customer service is definitely lacking in professionalism and policies and guidelines should be reviewed: If a customer successfully books a move (and receives that confirmation in the form of an email), the mover and unpakt should: 1) Honor the commitment or make every possible effort to do so (or don't say that it's confirmed, or guaranteed in the first place) 2) Not allow it to be cancelled from the mover's side. It should be a binding agreement. If in the case that a mistake was made, 3) Proper and adequate notification and compensation must be provided for the inconvenience Saying that "movers can cancel at any time because of scheduling issues" does not make any sense to me as a consumer. If you received my booking, accepted, and confirmed - that should be it - I should have scheduled movers and assured that I can count on the movers to be there, and that unpakt will help stand by me. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and unpakt did not deliver.

GBMy furniture was horribly damaged My furniture was horribly damaged. They sent someone to "repair" it, and he showed up with a plastic bag full of furniture paint he bought at the store on his way here. He was incompetent and was unable to even improve the deep gashes and scratch marks on all my major furniture. I have been trying to get a response for a year, without any acceptable help. Unpakt was not helpful in addressing the problem. Unpakt arranged the unsatisfactory moving company that moved me and damaged my furniture. Given they apparently do not vet the movers they recommend, or help mitigate the damage, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

GBGreat concept...HORRENDOUS customer service! I'll be honest...I'm fully supportive of having a middle company guarantee the price of your move (especially if you are going cross country). I've only moved cross-country once but the lack of a transparent pricing structure is unreal and SO costly. There is room for growth in this industry and I'm glad someone is working to improve that process. That being said, the customer service at Unpakt is HORRENDOUS. I highly suggest you make sure you have all your moving inventory is added the first time (or else you will need to re-approve billing as the prices change). This makes for a very unclear process as to when the move actually gets charged to your account. I understand why my move got canceled but the mere fact that the woman on the other end was so horrendous and unapologetic about the cancellation - I'd probably not recommend this until they get their "you know what" together. Be nice to people when they are moving because its a headache. At the end of the day you are in the service industry and positive attitudes go a long way.
