GBI bought a $20k IPE wood package from… NO WARRANTY. I bought a $20k IPE wood package from Advantage Lumber for all of 17x80 deck. It has been on for three years and treated with their expensive IPE oil every year. The deck started cracking all over with small splitting cracks. I spoke with advantage lumber today and was told their is no warranty on the wood. I had a wood professional look at the deck and he told me the wood was never dried properly. Now I have a $40k deck that looks like crap and no warranty from Advange. Would I buy something more from them again? You figure that one out. Very very disappointed. Too costly to replace again.

Customers Since: 2017 I just wanted to give a big thank you to the Advantage Lumber Sales team and a huge thanks to Edgar for helping us through this process. We've been a customer for years now and whats really helped that I've noticed is there customer service. Being able to work one on one with your vendor that places customer service at the front just makes everything at Advantage Lumber a smooth process and a store that stays true there word. As mentioned down below, we had issues with the material and Advantage Lumber sent out an employee, Edgar, to look at the deck and survey. I would like to share my thanks to Advantage for sending an expert and Edgar for assessing the area and answering all the questions we had. I appreciate you getting the process going and approved to be able to start the rebuild. Thank you for staying true to your word, we were able to get all needed material so the warp/break does not occur again. We opted in getting the 5/4x6 Cumaru to avoid an future issue that would cause warping or breaking of any sort. On top of the full length of cumaru needed we will be getting the wood plugs and top varnish. (Back-Story) -This past July of 2023 we placed in order for Cumaru Decking of 1,800' LF and were recommended by our sales rep to go for the 1x6 PLUS material. We had doubts on the thickness since we always purchase 5/4x6, we were assured that it wouldn't be an issue. It would later be installed and within a few months of installation the deck lifted and started to warp. We were told if issues arose that it could be sorted out and fixed at a later time. - Again thank you for making the process of getting an issue resolved from start to finish. Defiantly will be sharing my story to others of why choose Advantage Lumber! Best Customer Service on the west coast.

GBFrustration over lack of communication with Advantage I ordered two types of decking from Advantage on July 4. Since then a situation has arisen due to a miscommunication that has been a huge pain. I emailed Advantage on July 6 about adding wood to my order and was told they were out of it. But it wasn't explained that MY WOOD was out of stock. After not receiving the decking material for a few weeks I spoke with two different reps who assured me they were looking into the situation. Ultimately I was told that Advantage was out of the wood available to fulfill my order. But the lack of communication has been very frustrating. And I had to do the leg work myself to find out anything. Given the situation I hoped the company would simply send the wood from another location but because of free shipping on my order they will not.

GBI thought this was going to be a good…but it. Was the worst!!! I thought this was going to be a good experience. They shipped my order too early, and then had it sit in a warehouse in Jacksonville for over 6 weeks. When they finally shipped it to my house, my installer said it was dry, warped, discolored, and in such bad shape he would not accept the delivery. It was sent back to Advantage and they charged me 7000 dollars for shipping and restocking. I am disputing this amount with my credit card company, American Express. I would not use them and if you want to call me I will share my experience with you. 305-803-7528.
